Eric and I wanted to make sure that our engagement news was received with the same level of excitement and joy as we felt. As soon as we decided to take the next step, I knew that the first person I wanted to share the news with was Tina, my best friend.
I picked up my phone and dialed her number, hoping she would answer. And she did, sounding pleasantly surprised. "Hello, Sophia, what's going on?" she asked, eagerly waiting for me to talk.
I had the phone on the loudspeaker so Eric could hear everything, but I also let Tina know that Eric was beside me, and I had her on speaker.
