Chapter Eight

Damen POV

I watched her walking away, I was such a fool. I had to run after her and say sorry, but I didn’t have the courage to do that. I just closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I'll talk to her after school is over. I impatiently waited until the clock hit one thirty in the afternoon. Finally, it happened. I immediately ran out of the college and waited until Asteria came out of the college.

After waiting for almost fifteen minutes, finally she came out with her friend. She was silently listening to her friend with a small smile on her face, but my heart clenched because of that smile. She was smiling, but I could tell that’s she’s hurt from her eyes. I slowly walked towards her, and she suddenly looked at me with a questioning gaze.

“Asteria… I’m sorry” I found my voice low and filled with both hurt and guilt. She watched me for a while, and her eyes turned moist. She slowly looked away from me.

“It’s okay” With those two words, she walked past me. Guilty eating me alive, I really didn’t have to say something like that in front of everyone. Why the hell did I get angry as I remembered what she said about a second mate? I rejected her already, but I don’t know. I sighed and watched her leave, and then I decided to go back home.

As I went home, I noticed there were some people inside of the house. I entered the house and found there was a middle-aged couple and a young girl. I watched her for a while as she looked at me with a shy smile.

Blonde hair that reached her shoulders and grey eyes. She’s beautiful but I didn’t find she’s beautiful because I have already seen the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. I retracted my gaze from her and looked at my mother and father, who were chatting with that couple. They didn’t even notice me.

“Mom, Dad” I spoke as they looked at me and smiled.

“Damen, here you are.” Mom smiled at me and patted the seat next to her on the sofa. I walked to her and sat as she wiped sweat on my forehead.

“This is our eldest son Damen” my dad introduced me to them. I just simply nodded at them and looked away.

“Damen, this is Alpha Seamus and Luna Lucy, and their only daughter Ariana” Alpha Seamus? Oh, they are from the NewMoon pack.

“Nice to meet you” I said as I looked at Alpha and Luna. They smiled at me and nodded.

‘Look at her. She’s staring at us. Eww, why do I feel like ripping her head off her body?’ I pressed my lips together as I heard him. I wanted to laugh suddenly, but I forced myself back because if I laughed here, my mom would definitely hit me after they left.

“So how old are you, Ariana? I couldn’t even ask” My mom smiled at her gently, and my heart filled with displeasure for an unknown reason. “Nineteen years old” she smiled shyly at my mom and spoke with an innocent voice. I sighed and rubbed my forehead, trying to understand she’s really innocent or pretending to be innocent.

“Oh, have you found your mate?” My eyes fell on her as my mother asked, suddenly her face filled with something strange, and she again forced her ugly look back and smiled.

“Martha, she found her mate, but he died a few months ago” Suddenly Luna Lucy spoke as she sighed with unhappiness.

‘Why do I feel she’s happy inside of her?’ My wolf asked, I can’t help but agree with him because I also felt it from her looks, but why do I care. Tsk..

“Mom, I have something to do. I’m going out in a while” I got up from the sofa and said. Both mom and dad looked at me and nodded. Then I looked at Alpha Seamus and Luna with a small smile.

“Damen, why don’t you take Ariana with you and show around?” My actions stopped as I heard Luna Lucy’s voice. What the f**k? Why do I have to show her around?

‘Say no, she disgusts me’ My wolf shouted angrily and I also didn’t like her. “Yeah, take her with you. Anyways she’s going to attend the same college as you and it will be good to her if you show her our surroundings” My heart broke as I heard my mom’s words. What the hell? Why is she going to attend our college? What trouble. I simply nodded at my mom and walked away because I didn’t want to go against her words in front of outsiders.

‘Fool’ I heard my wolf’s curses, I sighed and stayed silent because I didn’t want to provoke him even more because of his bloody anger.

I grabbed a shower and changed into a new set of clothes. My heart felt like it was burning as I remembered Asteria’s innocent face. I really made her sad more than once. My wolf howled from pain as I remembered her tears after what happened today. I sighed and walked out of my room. Then I saw Ariana who was looking at me with a smile. Without caring about her I walked out of the house, I felt her following me but I didn’t pay attention to her.

“Damen..” I heard her voice as she caught up with me. I didn’t acknowledge her.

“So.. I’m Ariana” She spoke again. So do I have to care? No. right?

‘You don’t have to care about this annoying woman. Just care about our angel’ my wolf anger is something that I cannot deal with. He’s always angry and after I rejected Asteria his anger became worse.

“Where are we going?” Again I was interrupted by Ariana’s annoying voice but I really didn’t want to talk to her because she’s not interesting and especially my mind was filled with Asteria’s images.

“Damen..” I stopped as I heard her voice again, my wolf was raging inside of me. He just wanted to take control and kill this woman here.

“Can you please go back?” I asked her as her face turned pale. Why the hell was that?

“No. Mom asked you to show me around.” She stubbornly said with a blush on her cheeks. My heart turned cold as I saw her. I clenched my jaws while forcing both my own and wolf back.

Without caring for her, I walked towards the library. I didn’t have anything special to do. All I wanted was to stare at Asteria when she came to the library. As I entered the library,

“Woah, you like books?” she suddenly grabbed me from my hand and asked, my blood boiled from anger as she touched me. How dare you? I turned to look at her but the thing I saw broke my heart.

I saw Asteria, who was looking at me with an extremely hurt expression. She bit her lower lip and clutched her dress she was wearing tightly, soon after her eyes fell on the woman who was next to me.

My heart was hurting me and my wolf was howling from pain, he was hurt because of the look Asteria had on her face. A small and painful smile appeared on her face as she again looked at me, then she just turned and walked upstairs. My heart felt empty as she left, the way she smiled started to haunt me within a few seconds.

“Who is she?” I came back to my senses as I heard Ariana’s voice, I shook her hand away and looked at her with fury. I saw the way she gasped and I felt really happy.

“The girl I love” I said angrily at her, as soon as she heard me her facial expression changed. She looked at the direction where Asteria left and then looked at me. Her eyes were filled with something that I haven’t seen from Asteria. Is she angry or what? But that looks disgusting to me.

“But she’s not your mate right?” Suddenly her words stunned me into a deadly silence. I looked at Ariana’s face and looked away before walking away from her.

‘Stupid b***h’ My wolf cursed and I also agree with him for giving that name to her.
