After meeting with Mrs. Dahlia, Drake drove straight to Leandro’s house to pick up Lucy. His mind was still unsettled. He had explained everything, bared his guilt, begged for forgiveness, and yet, Thalia’s mother had refused to listen. Her heart was like stone, her grief locked tight. At least he tried.
