There was nothing sweeter than waking up in the morning and seeing the person you loved lying next to you. Drake’s gaze lingered on Lucy, curled against his chest, her arms draped loosely over him, her hair spilling across his shoulder like dark silk. Every rise and fall of her chest felt like a gentle rhythm to which his heart had learned to beat. Just watching her sleep sent a calming warmth through him. A peace he had thought he’d never feel.
