Richard*****
The next day was a blur of chaos and confusion. I couldn't bear the thought of facing Ava, wondering if she would leave me too. I felt like my world was crumbling around me.
As I arrived at the company, my secretary greeted me with a somber expression. "Sir, we have a problem. Investors are pulling out their funds. They're saying they've lost confidence in your leadership."
I was stunned. How did this happen? How did Tyler know all this? I felt like I was living in a nightmare.
And then, I saw her. Tyler's mother, sitting in my chair, a smug look on her face.
"Ah, Richard," she said, her voice dripping with venom. "I see you're reaping what you've sown."
I felt a surge of anger and betrayal. "How did you do this?" I demanded. "How did you manipulate Tyler into betraying me?"
She laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "I didn't manipulate him, Richard. I just showed him the truth. And he made his own choices."
I shook my head, trying to clear the fog. "What do you want from me?"
She leaned forward, her eyes glinting with triumph. "I want what's rightfully mine. I want control of this company. And I want you out."
I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. This was the final blow. I knew I was finished.
I slumped back in my chair, feeling the weight of my world crumbling around me. I couldn't believe that Tyler's mother, my ex-wife, had orchestrated this betrayal.
"You'll never get away with this," I snarled, trying to muster some semblance of strength.
She smiled, her eyes glinting with triumph. "Oh, but I already have," she said. "Tyler has already revealed all your secrets, all your dirty dealings. The investors are pulling out, and the company is going to crash and burn."
I felt a cold sweat break out on my forehead as I realized the extent of her plan. She had played me like a fiddle, using our son to destroy me.
"You're a monster," I spat, my anger and hatred boiling over.
She laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "Maybe," she said. "But I'm a monster who's going to take what's rightfully mine. And there's nothing you can do to stop me."
As she spoke, the door opened and Tyler walked in, a look of determination on his face. "It's over, Dad," he said. "Your reign of terror is finally coming to an end."
I felt a pang of sadness and regret, realizing that my own son had turned against me. But I knew I had no one to blame but myself. I had brought this on myself, with my own greed and arrogance.
And with that, the room fell silent, the only sound the ticking of the clock as my empire crumbled around me.

"Tyler, where's Ava?" I asked, my voice shaking with concern.
Tyler looked at me with a hint of surprise, then replied, "She's gone for her college exams. She's been studying at home because of... everything that's been going on."
I felt a wave of relief wash over me. Ava was safe, and she was pursuing her dreams. I was satisfied, and a small spark of happiness ignited within me.
But my ex-wife and son were not going to let me off that easily. "Richard, you're finished," my ex-wife sneered. "You'll never recover from this. Just give up now and let us take over."
I looked at them, my eyes narrowing in determination. "No," I said, my voice firm. "I will not give in. I will secure my company, and I will do it myself."
Tyler and my ex-wife exchanged a skeptical glance, but I didn't care. I was determined to prove them wrong, to show them that I was still a force to be reckoned with.
"I'll do whatever it takes," I continued. "I'll work day and night, I'll make deals, I'll fight. And I'll win."
My ex-wife snorted. "You're delusional, Richard. You'll never win. You're finished."
But I just smiled, a cold, calculating smile. "We'll see about that," I said. And with that, I turned and walked away, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Three months had passed since I had vowed to secure my company, and it had been a grueling journey. I had poured all my energy into salvaging my business, neglecting everything else in my life.
Including Ava.
I hadn't seen her in months, not since she had written her exams in college. I had been too busy fighting to save my company to even visit her, and she hadn't come to see me either.
In fact, she had been back from college for weeks, and yet she hadn't bothered to come to see me. I knew she was angry with me, hurt by my betrayal, but I had hoped that she would at least try to understand.
But it seemed that she had moved on, and I was left alone to face the ruins of my empire.
I hadn't gone home in months, preferring to stay at the office and work tirelessly to salvage what was left of my company. My meals were brought to me at work, and I barely slept or showered.
My ex-wife and Tyler had tried to reach out to me, to gloat over my downfall, but I had ignored them. I had no time for their taunts and jibes.
All I cared about was saving my company, and proving to Ava that I was still worth something.
I walked through the front door, exhausted but triumphant. It had been three long months, but I had finally secured my company's future. I couldn't wait to see Ava, to hold her in my arms and apologize for everything.
But as I entered the living room,I saw Ava sitting at the couch.
Ava looked at me, her eyes filled with confusion and hurt. "Richard, what's going on?" she asked. "Tyler told me some things... things that don't make sense."
I took a deep breath, knowing that I had to be honest with her. "Ava, Tyler has been lying to you," I said. "He's been trying to drive a wedge between us, to make you hate me."
Ava looked at me uncertainly, her eyes searching for the truth. "What about the company, Richard?" she asked. "What about all the things Tyler said you did?"
I shook my head, trying to explain. "Ava, I made some mistakes," I admitted. "But I never meant to hurt anyone. I was blinded by my own ambition, but I'm trying to make it right."
Ava looked at me, her eyes softening slightly. "I want to believe you, Richard," she said. "But I need to know the truth. All of it."
