NORIE'S POV:-
I opened my eyes and found myself in the same jail cell where I locked Angus. I couldn't believe it. Mr R.K was the one who played me. I sat up on the bed and looked for anyone to be around. There were only the on duty officers. I tried to talk to them but they didn't answer me at all. I was feeling sick being in the jail. After a while, I saw Mr R.K coming towards my cell. He was smirking mischievously, like he had won a game. "Enjoying your time here, Norie?" He asked me.
"You psycho, you planned this didn't you?" I asked.
"You didn't leave me any choice. I told you to stay away from my personal businesses, but you like to poke around. It wasn't personal though." He replied.
"You have destroyed my career. You framed me into something I didn't know." I said.
"It was your fault. You shouldn't trust anyone in this cruel world. People break hearts and trust. You should have checked the information." He said.
"I will see you as soon as I am out of here " I replied.
"Oh no you won't. You are already terminated from your job. Your grandparents know nothing where you are. You can't get another job and you have to stay away from me, I have restraining orders." He replied with a grin.
"Don't worry, restraining orders won't stop me. Not anymore." I replied and matched his grin. I went to the bed and sat on it. He stood there for a few minutes then left. I couldn't show him my weakness. But I was worried about my grandparents as well. At that time I could only pray to be out of there as soon as possible.
FEW WEEKS LATER.
ANGUS' POV:-
I was sitting in my office, working on my laptop. Mr Williams came in and sat in front of me. I shut my laptop and looked at him. He was grinning, I knew why he was happy but I wanted to hear him saying that. "The results came out." He informed me.
"And, you have something to tell me?" I asked him.
"Congratulations my boy, you have won. You will soon be a Minister." He said and stood up. I did the same. He pulled me into a fatherly hug.
"I knew you would never betray me. It was a clear win. You got so many votes." He said and patted my back.
"It was all because of you Mr Williams. If it wasn't for you, I would never have achieved anything." I replied.
"That's not true. I have seen that spark in you. I knew you would do something this big." He replied.
"Thank you so much for your trust and your faith. I promise I will never break your trust." I replied and he patted my back again.
"I know my boy. Let's talk now. I know the press must be waiting for you outside." He said and I nodded my head. He gave me a paper and I started reading it. I heard a knock on my office door.
"Come in." I said. Mr Williams' most trusted private investigator, detective Mark came into my room and greeted us both. We greeted him back. I looked at Mr Williams in confusion.
"I called him to find the real truth behind this drama we had faced a few weeks ago." He answered my unasked question.
"We didn't need that. We all know she is a psycho. That's why she created this scene." I replied.
"I wouldn't say that Mr Rutherford, if I were you. I would dig deeper and find my real enemies. I wouldn't just look at the surface and presume things." Mark replied to me. I looked at him with a raised brow.
"I don't understand what you are trying to tell me." I asked.
"I dug deeper as you have told me Mr Williams. Turns out you were right. That woman was just used. They just framed her. She is innocent. The one behind this master plan was R.K but who told him to do that, I am still searching for answers." Mark replied.
"I knew something was fishy. The way they all stood against her, I knew they were lying." Mr Williams said.
"She is still in jail. She is terminated from her job. If I am being honest, no one will ever hire her again. Her career is ruined fully." Mark replied to Mr Williams.
"Why did he frame her?" Mr Williams asked.
"I am still searching for that. R.K can't do anything like this on his own. I know he was ordered or maybe paid to do that." Mark replied.
"We don't have anything to do with her. Just find everything you can about the others behind this. I don't want anything else to happen." I said and stood up from my seat. With Mr Williams following behind, I made my way out of the building. As soon as we stepped out, the press surrounded us. Taking pictures and asking questions. I answered a few questions. Then Mr Williams took care of the press and I went back to my car. I hopped into my car and drove off. I wanted to see my grandparents.
After an hour-long drive, I finally reached my mansion. I parked my car and ran into the mansion. I opened the door and Umber jumped on me. She wrapped her arms and legs around my body, hugging me so tightly. I pushed her away. "Stop annoying me Umber. What's your problem?" I asked in an angry tone.
"I knew you would win. There was no way anyone else would have taken this away from you." She said.
"Why are you still here? I thought you said you will be leaving." I asked her.
"Yes, but I stayed for you. I didn't want you to feel alone tonight." She replied.
"I don't need you or your help. You are leaving in the morning, do you understand?" I asked. I could see tears in her eyes. She didn't say anything. Just nodded her head and left. I ran to my grandparents' room. They were still awake and were waiting for me. As I opened the door, my grandfather stood up and came to me. He pulled me into a long hug.
"I am proud of you son. You have finally achieved your dreams." My grandfather said.
"Thank you G. I still have a lot to do. But it's just a start." I said. Grandma also came close and pecked my forehead.
"I am so happy for you. I know how much you had worked hard on it." She said.
"Thank you pretty woman." I replied and pecked her cheeks.
"Now that I have won, we will throw a huge party. What do you say G?" I asked my grandpa.
"That's a great idea. I will invite all my buddies to meet my grandson." He replied and his eyes shined with pride.
"Bryan, you are more excited than your grandson." My grandma said and giggled.
"Of course I am more excited than him. I have seen him working day and night to achieve this." He replied and wiped a tear that escaped his eye.
"Are you crying G?" I asked. He shook his head.
"No son. These are happy tears." He replied and patted my back.
"Now, you must be tired, did you have your dinner?" My grandma asked me.
"Yes, I did." I replied.
"Okay then. Go to your room. You need to sleep better to work better." My grandma said. I pecked her forehead and hugged my grandfather. I stepped out of their room and went to my bedroom.
"Finally, the day I had been waiting for. Tomorrow I will be the Minister and no one will ever think to disobey me like her." I thought to myself. I stopped into my tracks. I wasn't expecting myself to think about a woman who had almost ruined my life and my dreams. I went to the mirror and stared into my own eyes.
"I promise you Miss Collins. You will regret everything you did. I will make sure you bow before me for the rest of your life." I murmured to myself and smirked.
