Alpha King Alistair I took a step further into the hallway and closed the door of Delphine's room behind me. Her steady breathing was a small comfort, but the weight of everything that had happened pressed heavily on my shoulders. My hand hesitated by the doorknob for a second, then I pushed myself to walk away. The corridor was silent, except the hums of machines and the remote voices of nurses.
