So here's exactly what happened that night. That night was a turning point, though I didn’t know it at first.
After Talia slammed me to the floor, a sharp pain tore through my belly, so intense that it almost stole my breath away.
It wasn’t until Damon’s alarmed voice pointed out the blood that I realized I was losing my baby.
The world seemed to narrow to that one terrifying truth. My baby, the one precious thing left to me, was slipping away.
I clung to hope, desperate and wild, as they rushed me to Rowena. I believed, naively perhaps, that she would have the same magic herbs that had healed me before.
Alpha Luther had told me it was the pack’s physician who had worked that miracle, and I trusted him.
