It was high time I asked my father such a question because why the hell did he always find a way to bring Kaida into every conversation?
What exactly did he have against her that I wasn’t aware of? She was a murderer! Yes! What else?
I never wanted to see her again, didn’t even want to hear her name whispered in the wind around the pack.
But my father... he seemed to relish every opportunity to drag her into the light, to make her the center of every problem we faced.
“Don’t you dare ask me such an irritating question again!” Alpha Caden barked at me, with his face fueling up with fury.
“I need to ask, Dad,” I insisted, my voice remained steady. “I don’t understand why she keeps getting dragged into this.”
“Your father is right,” someone else chimed in.
