My eyes popped wide open, a flush of shame and confusion swallowed me up right there. If the floor could open and swallow me up, I would have welcomed it with open arms.
The humiliation I felt was unlike anything I had ever experienced.
Alpha Kael had played me—played me! I thought he was finally noticing me, that he was giving me green lights.
