Chapter 5: AllureA LIGHT SNOW hurried along with the gusting winds as the sun dropped below the low and obscured western horizon. Its pale yellow light in between the clouds did nothing to ward off the nighttime chill. Cole walked the length of the wharf, beyond downtown to the working areas of the harbor. A good number of fishing boats were tied two or even three abreast, their captains no doubt impatiently waiting for the weather to turn and show even the slightest hint of spring. With darkness taking hold, Cole reached the end, turned, and walked back towards George Street.
