Chapter 12: Tighten the NooseHE WOKE UP IN Olivia’s room, the faintest scent of a flower wafting through the air. On his side, he reached behind his back and felt her side. She stirred to let him know she was awake. He didn’t hesitate to roll over, halfway on top of her, and brush her hair out of her face. Before she could even smile, he was kissing her. A long drawn-out moan told him she didn’t object, and they pressed against each other, the first spark of a wildfire between the two of them. She matched his raw emotion as they fed off of each other and shook away the stillness of an otherwise calm morning.
When they finished, Cole wiped sweat from his forehead and laughed as he caught his breath. As Olivia’s head sunk back into her pillow, she asked, “What got into you?”
