Chapter 14: On the RocksCOLE WOKE IN HIS bed, his fingers painful as he tried to make a fist and squeeze some life back into them. He was physically and mentally wiped, unsure of whether his body or mind had taken more of a beating the previous night. He didn’t know how he’d gotten back to his bed, but as he blinked and cleared his thoughts, he faintly recalled Tony helping him out of the bath and into some warm clothes. By the light outside, he was certain it must be midday.
After laying there and staring at the ceiling for another 20 minutes, he finally rolled and sat up in his bed. As the blanket fell from around his shoulders, he shivered with a renewed chill.
