50. Residual shock

Deciding to not plague her mind with depressing thoughts, Leah opted to take a shower and rid herself of the dirt from the previous day. Reluctantly she peeled Asher’s clothes off her body, tossing them to her bed in hopes that his scent would seep into her sheets. It would be nothing like laying with him in his bed but she hoped she could replicate that feeling. The only thing that remained on her skin was the silver band that currently reduced her strength to that of a mortal’s. She tried prying at the edge once again but the metal wouldn’t give. The lack of strength frustrated her. In a matter of seconds, she’d been stripped of the one thing that made up her existence. Leah was Caspian’s sword. She couldn’t be that if she couldn’t even break off a weak piece of metal like this.
