Amelie POV
As I lay down beside him on the bed and watched him sleep peacefully, I couldn't help but wonder if he has a conscience. If he has one, he wouldn't be sleeping peacefully after everything he has done.
"You aren't the first he was going to do that to, Amelie. He has been doing it for long," My subconscious mind reminded me, but then, I never deserved it. He treated us unfairly because we never did anything wrong to have made him do that. Maybe he was just being a psychopath, but why did it have to be my family? Those were the questions I kept asking myself, but I could only provide one answer to them, life itself is unfair sometimes.
