Evening. Arshad came to SH to pick Aanandhi up. Mahima asked him to sit and she went to prepare tea for him. Aanandhi went outside her room as Arunita called her. She saw Arshad smiling at her and she also smiled at him. Aanandhi: Aunty, where is Mom? Arunita: She is preparing tea for Arshad. Aanandhi got perplexed and rushed inside the kitchen, making Arunita frown. She held Mahima’s hand when she was about to put sugar in Arshad’s tea. Mahima: What’s wrong with Aanandhi? Aanandhi:Arshad shouldn’t have sugar as he is a diabetic. Mahima looked at her shockingly. Aanandhi gave the sugarless coffee cup to Mahima and went following her to the living room. She handed it over to Arshad. Arshad sipped it and looked at Aanandhi, raising his eyelids because it tasted sugarless. Mahima: Aanandhi told me that you are diabetic, so that I didn’t add sugar. Actually, Arshad understood that before Mahima uttered it. He smiled, nodding yes. Arshad: Aunty, we are leaving Patna tomorrow. We will be waiting for you. You don’t have to be bothered about transportation. I will arrange it for you. Just keep in touch with us and convey everything regarding that. Mahima: Sure son. Arshad: Try to come within a week. Arunita: we will Arshad. Arshad stood looking at Aanandhi. Mahima gave her a bag which had sweets. Before Aanandhi started crying, Mahima hugged her and whispered. Mahima: Don’t cry. Keep in your mind what I have said. Aanandhi gulped her tears and nodded OK. Arshad saw the scene. Arshad: You don’t worry about Aanandhi aunty. I will take care of her. Mahima and Arunita nodded OK gladly. Arshad and Aanandhi bid bye to them. In-car. Arshad sensed Aanandhi suffocating. Seemed like she was trying to say something. She looked at him and next second looked down, murmuring. Arshad: Do you want to say something? Aanandhi: Haa haa…. She nodded yes hurriedly. Arshad: Yeah tell me. Aanandhi (hesitatingly): ohh I want to thank you first. Arshad: For? Aanandhi: For bringing my Mom and Aunty to Mumbai. Arshad(nodded ok): Then? Aanandhi: I’m sorry. Arshad: Now for what? Aanandhi: Morning I didn’t call you inside SH and rushed, leaving you behind. Mommy scolded me for that. Arshad: It’s ok. You are forgiven. (pause) That’s all? Aanandhi: Mommy advised me a lot today. I spent time with my Mommy, Aunty and my friend Prachi. Mommy prepared my favorite dishes for lunch. She gave me a lot of sweets to give to Rauts. Arshad got confused about why she was conveying all these simple things to him. Arshad: Why are you reciting everything that you did at your house? Aanandhi (making a face): Because Mommy told me that I shouldn’t hide anything from you. That’s why. Arshad ( rolling his eyes smilingly): It’s not about saying everything. It’s about important issues. (Arshad looked at her face, who was looking at him pouting) Doesn’t mean I’m not interested in hearing. See, you went to your home at 10 am. Now it’s 5 pm. You need seven hours to recite everything that happened at your home. That’s why I said, You can EDIT everything and say important things. Ok? Aanandhi (nodded ok): ok. Arshad: Let’s start. Aanandhi took some time to EDIT and started pouring it onto Arshad as per her Mommy’s advice. Arshad(in mind): It would have been good if her Mommy advised her not to resist me from touching her. Arshad continued driving smilingly at his own thoughts, hearing her talk. Should say, he didn’t miss the chance to converse with her recording. RM Arshad and Aanandhi reached RM. Loli rushed to Aanandhi and hugged her shouting… LA: We are going to study at the same college. Aanandhi was looking at her confusingly. College? NK: Yes Sister in Law, you are going to join our college. Aanandhi: I can’t understand what you guys are saying. Grandma: Chinni wants you to study daughter. She looked at Arshad who was going to his room smilingly. Aanandhi couldn’t take her eyes off him in confusion. This was unexpected for her. She never thought that she would get such a great opportunity after her marriage too. Aanandhi:Miss Lolita, am I going to study with you at the same college? Loli: I won’t answer you. she said, turning her face. Aanandhi(worriedly): But why Miss Lolita? Am I asking anything wrong? Loli: Stop calling me “Miss”. Call me Loli. Aanandhi: Ok Miss Loli. Loli(rolling her eyes): Not Miss Loli. Just Loli. Aanandhi(hesitatingly): Ok LLLLoli. Loli: that’s great. Now tell me what you want to know. Aanandhi (excitedly): Did you see our college? Loli: Yeah. Aanandhi: How was it? Loli saw a lot of curiosity in her expression. Loli: That is the number one college in Mumbai. All BIG SHOT children study at that college. It’s very tough to get admission to that college. Aanandhi: I got distinction in 12th grade. Loli: That’s nice. You will get a seat but… Anoop got there, gesturing Loli to be quiet… Anoop: You don’t have to be worried, Aanandhi. You will get admission as you have good marks. Aanandhi looked at Loli and she nodded yes. She again looked at Anoop. NK came to them listening. NK: Yes Sister in Law, You will get a seat in our college. Aanandhi: You are also studying at the same college? NK: Yes. Masters in Visual Communication first year. Aanandhi: Visual communication means? She asked innocently. NK: Means, It belongs to media line. I’m getting ready to join AR as a Photographer. I’m very good at photography, you know? Aanandhi nodded NO. NK: You will get to know everything once you enter our campus. Aanandhi nodded yes. She couldn’t believe that her lifetime dream was going to be true. She imagined herself. She was running with a hand full of books in slow motion, shouting “I’m going to college……” Loli shook her shoulder, seeing her smiling like an i***t. Aanandhi grinned at her and left the place. The trio laughed at seeing her HAPPY EXPRESSION. Loli: Bro, why did you stop me when I wanted to talk about our college? Anoop: You wanted to talk about the donation issue, right? Loli: Yahhh Anoop: That’s what I don’t want. Loli: But why? We have to pay some lakhs to get a seat in our college. Because it’s a reputed college. Anoop: But what if she denies joining college knowing that? What if she backs off thinking about the money? Loli: Do you think so? Anoop: As I observed her… Loli: But she looks so innocent. She doesn’t even know who ASR really is and what his power in society is. She should know about it, Bro. Anoop: Of course she should. But not like this. Let her know about it herself. Once, if she starts knowing about ASR, then she will start searching for him. Don’t break the egg and spoil the thrill. Loli: Thank god you told me about it. Anoop: But don’t forget, you should be a shield for Aanandhi. I trust you. You have to drag her into our lifestyle, not seriously but casually. Aanandhi shouldn’t have known our intention. Loli: Sure Bro. And my friend Sonu also joined the same college on scholarship. Anoop: That’s really great then. Tell her about Aanandhi and use Sonu to mend things. Loli nodded yes. NK: Seems like you guys are seriously planning. Anoop: Don’t you know about Mumbai culture? NK: Yes. I’m also worried about that. I have no idea how my sister-in-law is going to cope with people. They may make fun of her, which can lead her to lose her confidence. Anoop: That’s why I want Loli to be a shadow for her. NK: But you forgot that NK will also be there for Sister in Law. Anoop: What do you think? ASR would have thought of some tasks for you by now. He said smilingly. NK: It’s my pleasure. …… Arshad saw Aanandhi entering the room. He smiled at her. Aanandhi (hesitatingly): Is it true that you are going to send me to college? (Arshad nodded yes) But how do you know that I wanted to study? That’s when Arshad got to know that she was interested in studies. Arshad: I didn’t know that you wanted to study. He didn’t say that he wanted her to learn their lifestyle. She may feel low. Aanandhi: Yes, I wanted to study. That’s why I didn’t want to get married. This was news to Arshad. She was not interested in marriage? God damn. Her Mom and Arunita should have compelled her to get married to him. So his decision to send her to college was good then. Arshad smiled as she looked happier than he expected. Arshad: Why did you agree to marry me if you wanted to study? Aanandhi: Because my Mom didn’t want to miss the good alliance and our family’s economic condition was also not in favor of my studies. So she refused to send me to college. Arshad: What do you want to study? Do you have an interest in any subject? Aanandhi: No. I don’t know what to study. Arshad was amazed. Arshad: Not bad. Aanandhi (curiously): When will you take me to college? Arshad: After reaching Mumbai. Aanandhi (hesitatingly): Can I ask you something? Arshad: Anything. Aanandhi: How did you get the idea of sending me to college? Arshad: I don’t want to waste your knowledge, that’s why. Aanandhi (frowning): Knowledge? Arshad: Yahhh… How brilliantly you have explained to me about good touch and bad touch which no one did before. That’s the point I understood about your knowledge. He said seriously without smiling. Aanandhi nodded yes, proudly smiling at him. Arshad suppressed a chuckle, seeing her pride. Arshad (in mind): This girl is absolutely crazy. She feels proud without understanding that I’m mocking at her. He admired her innocence for a while, but at the same time, he was tense too. How is she going to cope with high-class, haughty people in her college?
