TRIP

After returning to the room, I finished my routine and lay on the bed. Even after an hour, I wasn’t able to sleep and kept twisting and turning in bed. My mind was struck by the shadow I saw. Was it my imagination? Who could it be? Was someone following me? What were his intentions? I am sure it was a man. I got out of bed and poured a cup of water. Taking a sip of water, I walked towards the balcony. Unconsciously, my eyes went to the dark alley, and I felt someone staring at me. Though I did not see anything, it was completely dark. That alley didn’t have any lamps. Still, that burning gaze sends a shiver down my spine. I went back into my room and closed the balcony door, lay on the bed and covered myself with a blanket, it was strange why I felt scared…… but that … gaze. I didn’t understand it, but still, I controlled my racing heart and tried to forget it all. I didn’t want this to disturb me and think about it …. I think it was my imagination. Slowly sleep took over me and I closed my eyes. The next morning, my alarm woke me up. I finished my morning routine at speed, got dressed and left my room. As I have plans for my day, the cold but fresh air hits my face as I exit the hotel. I walked towards the market, had breakfast, and booked a taxi for Jakhoo temple. It’s the highest peak and the ancient temple of Shimla. It took one and a half hours to reach there, the journey and the place are both great to get the eyes. It's beautiful. Tall trees on both sides of the mountain road looked like a giant python slithering through the green forest. As the taxi moved forward, everything around it seemed to run in the opposite direction through the window. I saw a handsome young man next to a jeep waving his hand to stop any passing vehicle for help and a car stopped next to him to help. The scene was so real that I felt I had travelled back in time. But soon it all disappeared. I was lost in that memory. When I first met him it was nothing out of the ordinary, a stranger to whom I gave a lift. I never knew back then that at that moment not only did he enter my car, but into my heart without any notice. Madam, we are here “the driver’s voice jerked me out of my thoughts.” Hmmm, I nodded my head “I will be going back in 2 hours,” I told him while getting out of the taxi. As I had booked the car for a day, slowly I walked towards the temple. I prayed but didn’t make any wishes, as I once made a wish that could never be granted anymore, I walked around and clicked some pictures. It was almost 1, and I was hungry, so I walked towards Jakhu Temple café to have something and then to my taxi. As the car started, I closed my eyes, resting my head on the window. The cold wind kept hitting my face. The drive was smooth and there was not much traffic on the road. We reached the hotel around 3:30 p.m. I paid the fare, went into my room to rest for a while, and had tea. It was 5 pm and the circus show would start at 8 pm, so I decided to go shopping and headed towards the local market on Mall Road.
