The morning light filtered through the large windows and the sounds of nature beyond filled the space around my head with happiness and contentment. I groaned and rolled over, feeling for Alyse’s sleeping form beside me. The bed was empty. I shot up and looked at the empty space beside me and then moved my eyes around the room. She sat on the armchair between the window and the fireplace. The light from outside shone through and hit her face in the most picturesque way. Her skin glowed and her eyes sparkled under the light. She was holding a cup with steam rising from it while reading a book.
“Good Goddess you’re beautiful” I gushed. I pulled my knees to my chest and let my hands hang over them.
