I can’t recognize the person before me. She’s not the Nova that I know, not my best friend.
The eyes staring at me are full of anger and fury, if they had hands they’d wrap around my throat and choke me to death without blinking.
My body shakes as I drag down my skirt. My hands tremble while I fumble to fasten the buttons of my shirt. My heart hammers so violently it pulses in my ears.
She sniffles. Hot tears stream down her face, fast and harsh.
“You’re screwing my father?” she says, her voice cracking. “I, I… I thought you were my best friend, but it turns out you’re just a hypocrite.”
I gasp. My eyes flutter. My throat clamps up as tears begin to gather in my eyes. I press my lips together, trying to muffle my sobs while the heat slides down my cheeks.
