~Sienna~ The moment we step into the kids’ store, the air changes. Bright colors, soft lullabies humming from little speakers, and shelves lined with tiny clothes, clothes so small they barely even look real. Everything feels unreal. It’s like I’m operating on an automated command as I move through the room. I blink, overwhelmed. I didn’t even know babies needed this many… things. Will I be able to get all the right things without leaving anything out? Elias steps in behind me, his hand hovering at my back, guiding without touching. “Deep breaths,” he murmurs. “It’s not war. It’s baby stuff.” I sigh. My brows pull together as I glance at him over my shoulder. “It feels like war.” He chuckles, low and warm, and I hate that it calms me. He seems to understand how everything works too
