CHAPTER NINETEENMarvia Plum parked her Mustang at Lindsey’s house in Walnut Creek. Lindsey opened the car door for her. This lady and gentleman thing could be addictive. She climbed out of the car and he put his arms around her and gave her a warm kiss.
She looked at him, startled. “Wow! You’re turning into a real Romeo.”
“You do that to me.” Jamie swung open the passenger door and bounded out. He still had the Flying Fortress in his hand.
He’d progressed from a formal handshake with Lindsey to letting him pick him up and set him down again as a form of greeting. He said, “I flew in the Flying Fortress. Mr. Crump took me up.”
Lindsey looked at Marvia. “Is that true?”
