Kace  Kace walked up the stairs while all the underbosses walked out of their meeting. Cal hung back and waited for them to all shuffle out of the hallway. “What’s up, brother?” Cal said. “Nothin’. Anything interesting happen in the meeting?” Cal’s eyes grew big. “I’ll say, boss man is not happy.” He patted his shoulder. “See you at The Bowl tonight?” “Yeah, man.” Cal smiled and walked away down the hall. Kace walked in. His father remained seated at the head of the table. Kace walked around seating himself in number eight’s chair. His father was biting the side of his finger in irritation and contemplation.
