Our happy morning came to an end when one of the pack guards came running up to us, who we thought was on patrol. Damian frowned as he looked at him, waiting for him to say something.
“Alpha… We found a dead body near the lake,” he said, his voice filled with anguish and concern.
“Do you know who it is?” Finn asked, taking a bite of ham.
The pack guard looked anxious and unsure whether to tell the truth or lie. Sweat beaded down his brow as he was trying to keep his hands from shaking. My forehead wrinkled because of his reaction.
