“There’s a coincidence,” Faith observed. “We’ve both got some Swedish background.”
“Yeah,” Mac said.
“Have you decided yet what you’re going to major in?” Faith asked. Mac was in college but Faith had ended her formal education with high school, at least so far.
He shrugged. “I don’t know but it will probably be history or philosophy,” he said.

Mac kept up practicing his accordion regularly after that and his skill improved by leaps and bounds. The two of them began dating and their relationship deepened. Mac asked Faith if they could move in together.
“I think living together is a kind of halfway house between dating and being married,” she answered. “I don’t like to do things halfway. I won’t live with anyone before I get married.”
