“Never mind, never mind,” Wendy said. “Just call the cops and keep that door shut.” Natalie banged hard on the door. “Open up, Charles!” Natalie shouted. “You better let me in or it’s all over for us and I mean that!” As Natalie banged on the door, she shook bracelets on her arm and a dangling earring and her mass of loosely hanging red hair. “I’m going to open the door, Wendy,” Charles told his paramour. “No!” Wendy shrieked but to no effect. Charles opened the door. Holding her largest purse, a shoulder strap black bag of leather, Natalie charged in. She pointed at Wendy. “You better get your tail right out of here!” Natalie told Wendy. “Sure, sure,” Wendy said and went past Natalie and through the door. Natalie closed it behind her.
