“Hey, kiddo,” I said as Clark and I went into the living room. Eva turned her head and looked at us curiously.
“Yeah, Mommy?”
“Let's talk for a minute,” I said as I reached for the remote and switched off the TV. Clark and I took a seat on the couch, and the curiosity in her eyes was even more evident as she tilted her head to the side. I took a deep breath, and I was actually surprised at how calm I felt.
