Gordon-Blood’s report would then be despatched by courier to the Coroner and copied to the police. The report would state that the cause of death in the case of Peter Cushman was due to blood loss and fatal damage to his heart from the blast of a shotgun fired at close quarters and that Rosie Palmer had died from massive trauma after being hit by a vehicle and then run over by a second vehicle.
After studying the report, the Coroner agreed that Rosie’s body could be released for burial, but that of Peter
