Learning and Trust -CHAPTER 23

246 Words
📄 CHAPTER 23 Milo’s lessons were different — lighter, but no less important. He taught her how to distinguish between what was real and what was illusion. “Magic can create images that look, sound, and even feel real,” he explained, creating a soft, glowing butterfly that fluttered between them before dissolving into light. “But illusions lack warmth. They do not leave footprints, they do not cast true shadows, and they cannot hold their shape when touched by strong emotion or clear intent.” He had her practice trying to tell apart what was real and what he had created, challenging her with small tests. At first, she was easily tricked, but slowly she began to notice the faint, almost imperceptible difference — the slight lack of depth, the way the light seemed to pass through rather than reflect off the surface. “Your Sight will make this easier for you,” Milo said with a grin. “You see more than most, so over time, you will be able to spot even the most carefully made trick. And remember — laughter and courage are stronger than any shadow or illusion. Fear gives power to things that want to harm you.” Through all these lessons, Liana began to understand that their abilities were not just gifts — they were skills, honed over years of practice and discipline. They were not something that could be used carelessly, but something that required respect and responsibility.
