CHAPTER 9

"I didn't know you had a girl cousin..." I chuckled to ease the tension between me and Karl.

"Oh... She's from my mother's side. Most of you only know my father's side." Karl smiled. "I was about to invite you to the event tomorrow but... SOMEONE..." He glared at John and they all laughed.

"Don't be too hard on him. It's okay." I chuckled.

John thanked me saying that I had saved him from the mad man, Karl Williams.

Again, I ignored Candy, Derek, and Apollo when I saw them in front of our room. I feel so bad! I just don't want to get interviewed.

Since my seat is beside Candy's seat, I went to Karl first and stayed with him and his friends 'til our last professor came. I actually relaxed when I saw Candy and Derek just outside the room before the bell rang.

I sat down, not looking at Candy, but she was just looking at me! Candy, don't be this hard, please...

The bell rang and I immediately got a text from...

Back gate. Now.

I looked at Karl and saw that he was laughing with his friends. I went to him and he wrapped his arms around my waist.

"You coming with me? I brought my car. I can take you home."

"I... actually don't wanna go home yet." I answered and saw that Karl was shocked.

"Thought you're not allowed to go out the whole week?"

"Well... a little rebellion won't make my mom entirely mad." I smiled.

"Oh... you little rebel angel." Karl smiled and kissed me. "Where do you wanna go?" He asked.

"Starbs? Or... take me somewhere." I smiled.

Karl nodded and talked to his friends.

I have to go somewhere.

I didn't reply anymore. I went to Candy for a while and saw that she pouted. I hugged her.

"I'm sorry..." I whispered.

"What's wrong?" She really sounded concerned.

I shook my head and kissed her cheek. "Tell Apollo I went somewhere."

"And where is that somewhere?" Candy raised her brow.

I smiled and hugged her again before going out of the room. I was avoiding Apollo. Karl opened the shotgun seat and I went inside. I got nervous when I saw Apollo with Candy and Derek. Apollo's looking mad.

"We'll go to this restobar that I know... Do you drink?"

"Oh, I do." I smirked and Karl chuckled.

"Okay, princess."

We went to the restobar that Karl mentioned. He ordered food and some beer.

"Did Apollo know that you're with me?" Karl asked while eating.

"No..." I chuckled nervously. "He will not really care."

Karl laughed softly and nodded. "What time do you wanna go home?" Karl asked.

"Anytime!" I smiled.

I looked at my phone and saw that there were a lot of notifications from... Apollo. I just left it on read.

I did not reply again and God knows how much I wanted to tell him where I am now, but I'm really avoiding him. I opened my messenger and what a great day! I accidentally opened Derek's message.

Derek Ryder: HELLO :D I just wanna tell you that Apollo's losing his mind right now and he looks stupid as s**t. You're active and I know you'll see this message but him being here inside my room is suffocating me, so please, help me, Lyanne, and just reply and tell him where you are.

Derek Ryder Typing...

Derek Ryder: So where are you? I didn't tell Apollo that you replied to me 'cause he'd kill me. Just tell me and say if you want me to cover up for you. I'll tell a white f*****g lie to calm down his f*****g ass.

I looked at Karl and saw that he was laughing at the comedian in front of where the mini-stage was.

Lyanne Sauria: I'm with Karl. Please don't tell him.

Derek Ryder: HAHAHAHAHAH He'll probably kill himself. Okay, gotcha girl.

Why would he kill himself?!

Lyanne Sauria: Why would he kill himself?!

Derek Ryder: I told Candy that you're with Karl, so I told Apollo that you're with Candy.

WHY THE f**k ARE YOU WITH KARL AT THIS HOUR?

Oh... I feel nauseous. But I still drank and drank more shots.

I probably drank too much. It was already eight in the evening.

"K-Karl... I feel... nauseous..."

"Oh- shit..."

He came to me and assisted me to the bathroom. He was waiting for me outside since he couldn't go inside of the girl's bathroom. I puked until I was feeling better.

"WOOOHH!" I laughed when I got out.

I saw Karl with a concerned and confused face when he saw me. "A-Are you okay? I should take you home now."

"Bring me to Candy's house!" I laughed. "I... think... I love you... I'm so jealous. Do you know that?"

"Jealous?" Karl got confused.

Damn. Am I drunk? I hugged him and he hugged me back.

"Who's that girl and why'd you kiss her? HUH?!!"

"That was my cousin. You're jealous, huh?" Karl smirked and kissed me.

We almost made out.

"You're mine..." Karl whispered. "I don't f*****g care about Apollo. I'm jealous of Apollo."

"What?!" I laughed. "Why are you jealous of him?!"

"He lives with you." Karl gritted his teeth.

"I don't care! You're my boyfriend! You're my first boyfieeeee and I loveeee that my first boyfie is my crushieee."

"I'm your crushie?" Karl laughed.

"Crushie, crush, crush, crush-"

Karl kissed me and I kissed him back, wildly.

"Hm... Karl..." I moaned when his kisses went down on my neck.

My phone rang so we both stopped. "Answer that... I'll take you to Candy." Karl's voice became hoarse.

It was Candy!!!

"HELLO!!! My bestie!!!"

"What the f**k! LYANNE, ARE YOU DRUNK?!"

"I'll go there right now!!! Good byeeeeee I love you!!!"

I ended the call.

"Who's that?" Karl asked.

"Candy!" I giggled and kissed him and he was shocked.

Karl took me to Candy's house and Candy was shocked. I'm feeling nauseous again.

"She's not much of a drinker..." I saw Karl scratch his head.

"Yeah, she's not. Thank you for bringing her here." Candy stated and I smiled.

I clapped my hands. "AMAZING!!!" I laughed.

"She's cute." Karl laughed. "Oh... she's going to... puke..."

"LYANNE!!!" Candy screamed my name and I stopped.

What? What? I will not puke here! I need to go!

"I need to go now." Karl smiled.

"I LOVE YA CRUSHIE!"

Karl chuckled and kissed my forehead before we went back to his car and drove away.

"You're f*****g dead. You're f*****g dead to Apollo Moon, I'm telling you, Lyanne Angel."

"Why? I'm not dead? I'M ALIVE!! I'm breathing!!! See?!" I showed her my breathing.

"Oh, Lord... I'll take you to Apollo now."

I didn't know how it happened, but I just saw myself standing in front of Apollo's house. I went inside and I felt nauseous again. I was about to run to my room but I saw Apollo in front of the staircase.

"MY LOVELY LOVELY STEP-BRO!!! YOU MISSED ME?!"

His brows furrowed and immediately came closer to me. "Fuck... Why are you drunk..." He whispered.

"Because I drank!!!" I laughed but I really feel nauseous now. I raised my pointing finger and ran to the second floor. I almost fell down the stairs.

I puked until I was feeling better and flushed it right after. I sat down on the bathroom floor and Apollo handed me a glass of water. I drank that and it made me feel a little bit better.

"Such a sweetie brodie!" I chuckled.

"Stop calling me that."

"Brodie!"

"STOP."

I remember talking about love with Karl. I said, that I love him? Really? Love?

"Love?" I looked at Apollo.

He was shocked.

I laughed at his face, but confusingly, my heart was beating wildly... "You're confusing me..." I stated. "Really confusing me... Go away." I pushed him but I was too weak.

"GO AWAY!!!" I ordered.

"No..."

"SHOOOO!!!" I pushed him once again.

"You need to sleep. I'm sorry but... Can you change your clothes?" He asked before I could answer. He went out of the bathroom.

"ISTOOOPID." I laughed.

"Change your clothes." He ordered and went out of the bathroom and closed the door.

I changed my clothes, it doesn't matter if it was inside out or not... I want bed.

"Bed... I want bed..." I said to Apollo as I opened the door.

"Yes, bed. Now." He agreed.

"Bed! I want bed!!!" I laughed.

He carried me like a small child and dropped me on the bed.

I laughed and closed my eyes 'til I fell asleep.

I woke up and my head f*****g hurts. What the f**k happened?! "f*****g hell..." I whispered. Hang over...

I took a bath because I felt so dirty! I remember almost everything! Still not feeling well, I was immediately surprised to see Apollo on the dining table with some soup.

"H-Hi..." I greeted him.

"Uh-huh..." He just answered that.

Is he mad? WELL, OF COURSE HE IS MAD, YOU i***t, LYANNE!

I got my bowl of soup and decided to just eat in my room.

"Where do you think you're going?"

I froze. Oh my...

"U-Uh... I-I... will probably eat inside my room? I feel... dizzy..." I tried to walk out again but he called me again!

"Sit. Down." His voice was full of authority, so I pouted and sat down.

He was just looking at me. I couldn't look at his angry eyes!

"Why did you drink last night, hm?"

He sounded so mad.

"I..." I don't know what to say!!!

"You were f*****g giving clueless actions yesterday and we're all f*****g worried and at the end of the day you'll go home drunk?!"

He really sounded so mad but he didn't raise his voice. I couldn't even call that a yell.

"I'm sorry..." I whispered. "I was... feeling not so well..."

"Why is that? You drank at Candy's or you're not telling me something more?" His voice darkened at the last statement.

I couldn't answer! I know he'd beat up Karl so bad when he knew!

Lyanne Sauria: Are you awake Derek?

Derek Ryder: Let me guess. He is a mad man.

I love youuu but please tell me why you did that? I was worried and still worried about you now because of APOLLOOOO THE MAD MAN HAAHAHAHAH good luck!!!

"LYANNE!"

I was startled that I almost dropped my phone. I looked at Apollo and I was stunned to see his bloodshot dark hooded eyes. Damn. He clicked his neck and pushed his tongue inside of his cheeks and looked at me once again.

"I'm sorry if you're worried-"

"Why did you do that?" He asked with so much authority.

"But... I can't talk about it right now... I'm not feeling well yet." I said the truth.

He sighed deeply. "Don't go to school today."

"WHAT?!" I was shocked. "I-I can't!"

"You will not go to school today," he repeated.

"You're not the f*****g boss of me!" I fought. "I have lots of tests today and you're telling me not to be present today?!"

"Then why the f**k did you drink the day before the tests?!"

"Stress reliever!"

He was shocked at that.

I also got shocked at my answer. Did it make sense?

"Finish your food." He ordered.

"Apollo-"

"FINISH. YOUR. FOOD."

I pouted. I feel so bad for lying. Should I tell him? Oh, fuck...

Apollo waited for me and we both went to school. He did not drop me at the back gate and he is not talking to me! We're not inside the parking lot. Oh my... is this my punishment? He knows that I don't wanna be seen with him!

"Apollo..." My voice broke and tears formed in my eyes.

WHY AM I SUCH A CRY BABY?

"I'm sorry..." I cried. I covered my face with both of my palms. "I-I was with Karl... Last night... At some restobar... I-I... was hurt! I didn't know what to do yesterday! I don't know what to feel yesterday!!!" I was screaming my emotions out. I don't care anymore if someone will hear me even when I'm inside the car.

"I don't know if Karl is f*****g lying to me! I was f*****g hurt and I knew that he doesn't have a girl cousin but I saw him with a girl yesterday and when I asked, he told me... t-that girl was his f*****g cousin!!!"

"I-I know you're all going to ask me why... But I don't know! I felt so empty yesterday!!! I don't know what to feel! I... fuck..." I cried so badly.

I heard Apollo sigh deeply. He turned on his car again and I was shocked he left the parking lot. He went to some... parking lot just near the school. It was really a quiet place.

As soon as he parked his car, he got out of the driver's seat and opened my door. He leaned on my side and hugged me from there. Because of that... I cried more.

"You should've been honest even from the start..." He whispered and I felt him kiss my head.

I just cried and cried.

"B-but... he told me that it was his cousin from his mother or mother's side." I stated when I calmed down a bit. "I-I don't really know..."

He hugged me more and even though I was sitting, I let my body face him and hugged him back like a little child. I cried on his chest.

"I'll talk to him." He whispered.

No! "No! No, no, no, please. I don't want you to meddle in this, please. Don't." I shook my head a lot of times.

Apollo sighed deeply and I felt him nod.

"Promise me to tell the truth from now on... please. I think I'll lose my f*****g mind." He stated.

"I'm sorry..."

"Please, baby..." He whispered and my heartbeat was so wild.

"I'm so sorry..." I just answered.

We stayed like that for a moment and we went back to school. I stayed with Candy and since I owe her an explanation, I told her everything. Derek also listened, since I owe him something, too.

I just hope that Apollo won't get mad at Derek 'cause he covered up for me. He told a lie to Apollo because of me.

Karl and I became a little bit closer than before. This whole week, sometimes I'm with Candy for lunch and sometimes, I'm with Karl. Today's Friday and I can't believe I have survived this week. Tomorrow's our hiking.

"Where will we hike tomorrow?" I asked Apollo.

We're currently eating breakfast.

"Runyon Canyon."

I chuckled. "Will that be even hiking?!"

He rolled his eyes. "The view's amazing." He shrugged well, I can't disagree on that one.

I put on his necktie and we both went to school now. I was dropped off at the back gate and met Candy by the room. I went out to go to the bathroom.

"Karl invited me to the DJ event!"

"Oh, how lucky... I hope that my crush will invite me."

"Who? Apollo?! In your dreams!" The girl laughed.

"What?! You hoped that Karl would invite you, so shut up, I'll hope!"

They both laughed and got out of the bathroom. I slowly went out of the cubicle. What did I just hear?

I know the Apollo they're talking about is the Apollo that I know. The Apollo Moon Gray. Will Apollo invite someone? Will he even go to the event? I chuckled in my mind.

I got out and while walking around the corridor, I saw Karl and... that girl again. Based on her uniform, I think that is architecture? Or engineering?

Engineering...

I was about to walk closer to Karl but he kissed the girl. Like... how he kissed me... That should only be me, right? Will you kiss your cousin on the lips?

Instead of walking towards them, I took the long route just to avoid them. Suddenly, I saw Apollo and Derek walking to their rooms. I ran and stopped in front of them.

"Oh, hey, Lyanne!" Derek greeted.

I was breathing heavily. I looked at Apollo and saw his brows furrowed.

"What's wrong?" Apollo asked and got closer to me.

"K-Karl..." Tears formed in my eyes and I saw and heard Derek calling Candy on the phone.

Apollo's jaw clenched and faced Derek. He whispered something to Derek and I already saw from the hallway that Candy was running towards us.

"Hey! Hey, hey..." Candy came to me and hugged me. "What happened?"

"He kissed her..." I cried.

I didn't really feel hurt, but my pride was hurt. Like do I deserve to be played? He was my first boyfriend and my experience was like this. Funny.

"Wait! No! I'll try to confirm-" I stopped them when they tried to go to Karl.

"Are you forcing you to close your eyes or love blinded you?!" Candy got mad.

"I'll confirm... Please, one last..." I pleaded.

Candy sighed and nodded. I walked out to go back to the corridor where I saw Karl. I was praying and hoping they were still there. As soon as I turned, yes, they were there.

"Hey!" I smiled at Karl.

I saw him shocked.

"Uh- Who is she, bae?" The girl asked.

Bae?

"I don't know... I think she's my classmate? Oh! Yes, she's my classmate! Why? Is the professor there?"

What?

"Oh, you need to go now, babe! I love you."

"I love... you..." Karl said while looking at me.

The girl kissed Karl's cheek and walked away. I saw her ID a while ago and she was an engineering student. I suddenly remember the scenario at the library. He was looking for engineering books.

I smirked playfully and shook my head. I'm hurt.

"You should've broken up with me the moment you knew that you don't love me," I whispered.

"Lyanne..." He tried to hold my hand but I walked backwards.

"Don't touch me... It was just... unfair... I was... f**k!" I cried.

"I'm sorry... Lyanne, let me explain-"

"EXPLAIN?"

I couldn't react! Apollo punched Karl. Candy hugged me and Derek tried to stop Apollo.

"f*****g explain now!" Apollo was fuming mad.

"Why would you cry, Lyanne?!" Karl faced me. "You have Apollo and he's living with you! He f*****g kissed you, then the next day you're step-siblings?! Who will believe your s**t?! So why would I believe that you're not cheating on me also?! Really?! Who knows if you both already f****d-"

Apollo punched him once again. Apollo punched... and punched him. I don't know what to say... Apollo was taller and more built than Karl.

Karl chuckled as he got up slowly. "A step-brother who's that f*****g protective?! I f*****g doubt that." Karl looked at Apollo.

"Are you her f*****g father?!"

"You don't f*****g know anything. She did not f*****g cheat on you and her tears for you are not f*****g worth it. You hearing a word from me isn't even that worth it because you're that f*****g unworthy, you son of a bitch." Apollo stated with full authority and seriousness.

I have never seen him this seriously! He turned around and got my arm and took me with him. I saw his hand with a little bit of blood and it was red. We went to the parking lot and Candy and Derek were with us.

The bell rang and we were still in the parking lot.

I'm feeling empty.

"Can I see your hand?" I asked softly.

Apollo looked at me and handed me his hand slowly.

"Give me the keys to your car." I asked and he gave me his keys.

I left a first aid kit here. Some of my things were there, too. I got the first aid kit and treated his hand.

"Will we be present for the whole day or be absent?" Candy chuckled. "Wanna come to my house?" Candy suggested.

Oh, she's the real rebellion here! I smiled a bit and hugged her. "Yeah..." I whispered and she laughed.

"What about our bag?" I asked.

"I'll ask someone to get our bags." Derek stated, and he called someone.

In just a few minutes, we saw their friend bringing all of our bags. Apollo and Derek talked to him.

Candy went with Derek since Derek brought his car and I, of course, am with Apollo.

"Welcome to my room!" Candy laughed.

"Candy, do I still have some clothes here?" I asked.

"Yes, it's inside your drawer."

I got some of my clothes and took a quick bath. Candy, together with Derek and Apollo, were talking about something and laughing.

"Hey, baby baby!" Candy came to me like I'm some little kid.

"Tsh." I chuckled. "I'm fine. My pride was just hurt." I rolled my eyes.

"Oh, really... Who would even cheat on you? You're an angel! You're a sweet, kind and beautiful angel." Candy hugged me and I laughed.

What a day.
