19.Little changes.

"You can join from tomorrow,after seeing your training,we will tell you whether this job is permanent or temporary for you and you will get your fifty percent pay during your training.And full pay if your permanent" the head doctor told me while returning my file. Dr. Krishnamoorthy was a man his age similar to my father who is interviewing me for the post of physiotherapist in his hospital.

I nodded my head and exited after saying a polite 'thank you' I waited for a cab outside the hospital.I came here in a cab this morning because it felt easy as it took me here directly to the hospital.It didn't take me long to the reach the house.I squealed in joy when I spotted Deepa aunty in kitchen doing her chores.

"I had got the job..."she smiled at me."Wow...I am happy for you dear.From when are you joining?"

"Tomorrow...but it is temporary now.After seeing my progress they will make it permanent. Still I will get my half payment during training." I said taking some cookies from the box.

"Ok...now tell me is there any bus available from here to the hospital?" I asked after chewing the cookie.

she thought for few seconds and replied."Yes...but you have to walk for five minutes from the stop to the hospital." I nodded at her.Then it would be good.I need not to spend lot of money for a cab daily.

I had not asked for money from my husband even for once,I bought all my necessary things from my own money which I had with me from my home.I cannot completely depend on my new husband for money that too when we are not any husband-wife in real but only by name.Our maid buys groceries required for the house from my husband's credit card and hands him the bill.

I remember when he gave me his credit card. "You can keep my credit card,you may need it." he said one evening when he came back from office.

"Thanks.But I don't need it.I have my own card and I have enough money in hand.And I believe I will find a suitable job for me soon." I refused gently and to my surprise I saw his jaw eyes tightened and anger flashed in his eyes for a moment.Before I can observe clearly to confirm he turned and marched faster in a blink of eye.

He was the one who told me not to bother him and now if I take his card it would really bother him he will receive every time a message to his number whenever the card is scratched.Above that we are not even in friendly zone to share such things.When we both live like a known strangers,I felt it is not required to share his money.

He came as usual from office.I had cooked today,not only today but many times.And I never told him or allowed our maid tell him.I thought he may not eat if he knew that I had cooked.The first day when I cooked he didn't eat it, telling that cook will prepare it.So,I didn't dare to say him that I cooked,let him think that food was prepared by the maid.

"I am going to job from tomorrow on wards."I informed him when he completed his food.He just nodded his head and went inside his room and locked.I really wonder what is there in his room,that he never allowed anyone inside and locks himself inside.

He just nodded. Didn't even bother to ask about the job?At least does he knew that I am a physiotherapist.A doctor? No he may not know.He rarely talked with me and he would nod his head just like now.

"How are you feeling now sir?How is the pain in your leg now?"I asked the old man who was sitting with his grumpy face.

"No..it is still paining.When will you discharge me?"He said with a grumbled voice.He has been like this since he was admitted here all sulking because of sitting in one place all the day.

"You will go once your leg is fine.Now let me check your leg?"he grumbled in protest but agreed without choice.

"Is it paining here."I knocked on his leg.

"No"

"Then here?"

"No"

"Now"

"ahhh.......It is paining badly." he pulled his leg instantly but I kept in place.

"Yes it would pain definitely.If you run like a kid on the stairs at this age and fracture your, leg then it will hurt only." his wife entered the room with food in her hand.The old lady narrowed her eyes at her husband.

Now seeing her behaving like this I remembered my mother.She too would behave like this whenever me or my brother do some silly antics to escape from her.

The old man glared at her. "I didn't run like kid,I climbed faster to pick my ringing phone." He said still glaring at his wife.I chuckled inwardly.Their battering seems to be childish.No wonder,they say the more older you become you behave more childish.

"Ok...sir,would you like to have a stroll outside in the garden."I asked the old man,he frowned at me.

"Are you serious young lady?because no doctor would allow me to move from the bed due my leg"he asked eyeing me suspiciously like I am trying to make him fool.

"Of course sir.You are not allowed to move from your bed or allowed to go home.But seeing your grumpy face I decided to show you some mercy by taking you out on a wheelchair." I eyed his wife only to get a wink with a smile from her.The old man's eyebrows rose up with a smile on his face and I also didn't miss the light in his eyes after hearing me.

After taking him outside for few minutes,I took him back to the room and assured him that within a week he would return his home after my treatment on his leg.Later I instructed few exercises for his leg and attended few more patients and returned back to home.

I had made few changes in this one month,I had planted more plants in the garden and renovated it.The garden is waiting for the plants to blossom.Once it happens the garden will look more beautiful.

I had also brought many changes in ground floor especially the living the room.I had added many paintings,wall hangings and few artificial plants with different colours.

To my surprise and relief he didn't tell any thing about it.One day when he came home and noticed the changes he just stared a me for few moments and returned to his room.That really shocked me,I expected him to shout at me to remove everything but that didn't happen.

Only now I started feeling comfortable in this house little by little with my routine to hospital and house.But still I would find my time to look after the plants and cooking,the latter is still unknown to him.
