The Strange Girl

463 Words
When I had first laid eyes on it I fell in love… Chocolate the one thing in my horrible life that I am entirely in love with. As I am gazing at it through the window in the shop I look at the clock hiding behind Mr. Sham’s head and see that it is 7:00 and I race towards my house. Of course, being me and the clumsy person I am I don’t see Matty standing right in front of me. Matty is the cutest boy in my class and the smartest too but I don’t really care cause he is not my type. I run into Matty but in that very brief second I felt something that I had never felt before in my life, it felt like the most amazing and yet very terrifying thing I have experienced. In a flash, though it was over and I was stunned for a couple of seconds afterward,  I  glance at Matty and he winks and runs away. I slowly walk home not knowing what to do with what I had just gone through and I slowly dread going back home. I get home and I run upstairs to my room without talking to my head lady in the house. I hate this house not only because it's old and rundown but because of the people. In today's society power is everything but if you're like me you don’t have any, apparently, it is such a bad thing that if you were born without it you get tossed from your families home into the street and every night the Man goes around collecting the children and raising them in carefully placed orphanages around Bingsarm. You must be thinking wow what a place and time I wouldn’t ever want to live there well ya don’t so shush. The head lady comes up to my room as she knows I just ran up here and didn’t even say hello “Laura you open up this door right now or I swear to Jesus Christ my Lord and savior I will break this door down and you're going to have to pay for it!” I quickly run-up to the door and unlock it then rush back to my bed under the covers, hiding here I feel very safe and protected. " Laura you have to see my eyes this instant or else you'll be fed to the dogs" I know the dogs aren't scary but I do what she says never the less. 'yes mistress" I sneer through gritted teeth "what happened dear, why did you storm up here and totally ignore me You know that's not how this house works"
