VICTOR HAD CALLED NIGEL in the whirl of media attention that had followed Liam’s surprise announcements over a year ago that he was, one, bi, and two, engaged to Carly. Nigel may not approve of the way Victor sometimes conducts his relationships, in public or in private, but the pride in Victor’s voice when he’d spoken of Liam’s bravery had been exasperated and very real.
