  Instead of listening to me, Adam turned away, his voice cold and dismissive. "Get out, Ina. I have important things to do."   Feeling dejected, I left the bedroom, my mind racing with thoughts of how to make Adam understand that Emma wasn't who she pretended to be. As I stepped out into the hallway, I came face to face with Emma. Without warning, she grabbed my arm and dragged me into one of the guest rooms.
