Chase still can't believe he did something so spontaneous and rash. When his best friend finds out he not only went on the date but ended up asking the lady to be his girlfriend, he'd think I was nuts. I'm sitting in the living room of my loft just smiling like a crazy person. How can a woman I met twice make me feel the things Carah is making me feel. When I bumped into her on the night of the auction, I was instantly intrigued. When she fell after we collided I felt like s**t, I rushed to help her up and when she looked up at me I swear it was love at 1st sight for me. I sent Drake to get a paddle as soon as possible and swore I'd spend whatever it took to win a date with her. Lucky me no one was willing to match or better my bid, plus it would go to the local orphanage so it was a win win for me. She was breathtaking in her strapless...wait strapless?? It wasn't strapless before but I digress, she looked absolutely delicious, I've never been drawn to the petite ladies, I don't know what it is but I love curvy women, they're gorgeous to me. Voluptuous is the word I'm looking for, I'm on team Thickems. She was perfect, curves in all the right places, gorgeous and hair I wanted to grab and pull while making love to her.

I was lost in dirty thoughts about Carah when Drake came into my office " morning buddy how went the date?" I shook my head and replied " she was perfect, I damn near proposed man " his mouth dropped open and he stopped walking, " whaaaaat " he said. " I asked her be my girlfriend and date me exclusively until she leaves for culinary school " my best friend of 17 years shook his head and dragged a hand over his face, " that must've been some damn good p***y ". I gave him a dirty look, " we didn't sleep together man, she's worth more than that " I told him a little about our date and then a few details about what happened at her house.He came over and dragged me out of my chair and hugged me " damn I'm happy for you man " he clapped me on the shoulder and asked when I was seeing her again, I told him it was her birthday today and I had a few things planned for her before I met up with her and her best friend tonight for dinner. He smiled and told me congrats again before he went to his office. We're business partners and together we own the wealthiest corporation in Baulder City. I got out my phone and pulled our chat up, wondering if she had gotten her first surprise gift yet. " Good morning beautiful, HAPPY BIRTHDAY baby " the little typing bubbles give me so much joy " good morning Chase, thank you " I type a reply quickly " what time do you leave for work, I left a gift on your doorstep earlier this morning " she takes a few minutes so I know she probably went to check it out " aaaawwww Chase thank you for the flowers, no one has ever sent me flowers before " I raise my eyebrows and wonder if the rest of the men in Baulder City were serious, had this diamond under their noses all this time and wasted the opportunity. I text my reply quickly " the best is yet to come, I can't wait to treat you like the queen you are these coming weeks " she sends me a flood of heart, kisses and smiling emojis. I type so fast my fingertips burn " you're taking lunch today Carah, it's your birthday and that wasn't a question " she was replying " ok, I'll let my boss know so she can prepare herself " I send my reply " Carah?"...." yes Chase "......" I can't wait to see you for lunch " and I send my own set of kissing and heart eyes emojis before I lose my nerve.

She doesn't even know how wrapped around her little finger I am, anything she wanted I'd give to her right now, I'm hoping that even after she leaves for school we can continue this relationship, I'd hop a plane in a heartbeat to be with her. I take up my office phone and call a few people, make some arrangements for lunch and fantasize about Carah rolling her eyes so I could kiss her into a stupor. When Drake breezed into my office I'm staring off into space, grinning and haven't done a damn thing all morning.

" Hey buddy " he says I've got to go meet with the investors for the new hotel and hash out a decision about the room design and lobby decor, wanna come with? " he asks me as he puts on his jacket. " I have lunch with Carah in a couple of hours, that meeting may take long and I won't reschedule with her, not on her birthday " " I'll do some paperwork and make a few calls, then I'll go get her and take her to lunch " Drake looks at me and nods, " I have got to meet this woman " I tell him I'll introduce her to him soon and wish him luck in the meeting. I have an idea for lunch with Carah and I call the chef at my most successful hotel and ask him to cater lunch for two, I told him I'd collect it in about 2 hours and thanked him for doing it for me. I pick up my phone and text my queen " hey beautiful "

Carah: " hey Chase "

Me: " how's the birthday girl "

Carah: " just another typical day at work "

Me: " really, gotta have a talk with that man of yours "

Carah: " why did he do something wrong ?"

Me: " you birthday should be full of surprise gifts and romance "

Carah: " lol I've already gotten some beautiful flowers today "

Me: " aahh ok well I hope he knows how lucky he is "

Carah: " or maybe it's how lucky I am "

Me: " nah he's definitely the lucky one, he's going to show you over the next few weeks exactly how grateful he is to have found you "

Carah: " aw Chase, you're very sweet, the flowers just came. I don't know where I'm going to put them all "

Carah: " thank you "

Me: " I really can't wait to see you, lunch might be early "

Carah: " I'm looking foward to it "

I put my phone down and just sat there smiling again. I loosened my tie, then took it off all together and undid my top button, put my jacket on and decide to go collect the food then make my way to Carah, I really just wanted to see her. I googled the name of the little bakery she works at and got the address, see you soon my sweet, I thought as I took my jacket off the chair and left my office. I went down to the parking garage and got in my car, I was driving the BMW today as it was smaller than the jeep and only three of us would be riding in it tonight. I didn't need all that room, I zipped across town to collect the lunch from Chef Frans at Hotel La Luna and after thanking him profusely and telling him I owe him a favor in the future. I made my way back to the other side of town to meet my girl for lunch.

I found parking relatively close to the bakery and I got out, walked the few feet to the shop and opened the door. She was backing me so she didn't see me come in, I sat at a table in the back and watched her work for a few minutes. When she went in the back room, I walked up to the counter, rang the bell and waited, when she came out and saw me she smiled so brightly I couldn't help but to smile too. " Hey " I let my eyes run up and down her body, stopping at her full lips " hey ". We stood there staring at each other until a little old lady cleared her throat behind Carah " young lady if he's going to have you so loopy you may as well go on to lunch " she blushed and rolled her eyes " Mrs Luuuuu " I stepped forward and motioned for her to come closer, when she leaned towards me I whispered in her ear " terrible habit rolling your eyes " then I kissed her. She gasped and I stole the opportunity to deepen the kiss, " y'all better get outta here, the shop is already heated from the ovens " Mrs Lu said breaking us out of whatever trance we were in " go on to lunch honey, better yet, it's your birthday baby girl go spend some time with your new beau. Take the rest of the day off " Carah started to protest but Mrs Lucas wasn't having any of it " out! " I walk in front of her and open the door for her, she blushes, says thank you and as soon as she walks outside some skank threw iced coffee in her face, another one threw some on her clothes and yet another one dumped some on her head. I was shocked then livid, I shouted " what the f**k do you think you're doing, who the hell are you people, leave her alone! " I rush foward and shielded Carah with my body, she grabs my jacket and leans into my back, " it's ok chase, I'm actually accustomed to my sisters and their bullshit. I have a change of clothes in my car for occasions such as this " I turn around and look at her " they do s**t like this all the time " she nods " and you just.....let them? " she nods again " why baby! " she shrugs and tells me if she defends herself they come back at her harder and it just gets worse, her dad does nothing about it and their mother sometimes joins in. I'm amazed and pissed off by this knowledge.

" Happy birthday Caruuuuuuuh " they all say in unison and laugh " I see you're giving this guy what he paid so much for, you slut " one of the harpies says. I brush Carah's wet and sticky hair put of face " what do you want me to do, just tell me and it's done ". She sighed and said " just take let me go home cause I can't wipe off this much I need a shower and then since I do have the rrst of the day off you can come pick me up for a late lunch if you still want to " " I'm so sorry they ruined our lunch date Chase " one of the scarecrows scoffed " we probably saved him from being bored to death, there's no way he was gonna enjoy your company anyway Caruuuuuuuuh " I looked over at them " why are you still here, you did what you came here to do and since she's not going to press charges you can scurry off to whatever hole you crawled out of " they stare at me in shock " how dare you speak to us like that, do you know who we are, do you know who our father is?!" the taller of the three said " you just wait till we tell daddy what you and your date said to us Caruuuuuuuh " they cackled like the witches they are and walked away before getting into a limousine and driving off.

I looked at Carah, " baby do you really share DNA with those magpies?" she nodded, looked down at herself and rolled her eyes. I made up the little distance between us and she saw me coming and started to say " Chase I'm wet and sticky from the cof.... " I locked my lips on hers and kissed her deeply. " I change my mind, it's not a bad habit, keep on doing it " I smirked and she said " come on you can follow me in your car, so I can go shower and change you naughty man " I chuckle and walk her to her car before i walked to where I parked and followed her back to her house.
