As my ecstasy increased, his did in tandem, proving our souls were interconnected. He thrust underneath me, and I swiveled my hips, sensation taking over my body. Sitting up, he repositioned me on his lap, grabbing my waist while his mouth covered my breast. As his fingers dug into my skin, I moved faster, both of us desperately racing toward our climax. I cupped his head, pulling him away from my breast, and kissed him again. I wanted to taste, smell, and feel him. As his tongue swept into my mouth, my orgasm rocked through my body. I responded eagerly to the kiss, and he shuddered through his own climax. After who-knew-how long, our bodies stilled, both of us completely satiated. I rolled off him and cuddled into his arms. As my eyes began to close, a knock sounded at our door. Cassidy called out, “They were able to get hold of the woman, and she’s going to deliver the message. They’re on their way back. I just wanted to let you know all is well so you two can get some sleep. We can talk more in the morning. Good night.” Any remaining tension ebbed from Thorn, and we fell fast asleep in each other’s arms. The next morning, Thorn’s weight left the bed, stirring me. I opened my eyes to find him dressing his gorgeous body. I pouted. What are you doing? You’re taking away my eye candy. His brows lifted. There’s still some eye candy left. He gestured to his face and tilted his head. Sure. I rolled my eyes, fighting to keep the corners of my mouth from tipping upward. I’ll pretend to agree. His mouth dropped open, and he patted his chest. Are you saying you only find my body attractive? Your face isn’t bad. The smile broke through. I mean…it’ll do. It’ll do? He gasped and jumped on the bed, his fingers digging into my sides. I giggled, jerking away. My sides were the ticklish part of my body. He straddled me, locking me in place. Tears streamed down my face from my laughter. Please stop. I can’t take much more. Just like that, he stilled. “I guess, but just so you know, I won’t be putting out for a while. Not until you begin appreciating this face.” “Lies.” I squinched my nose. “You can’t hold out on me.” I lowered my hand and grabbed his crotch, which was already hard from him being on top of me. “Fine,” he scoffed, then kissed me. “But I’ll have you know I love every part of you, including your foul breath.” I slapped my hands over my mouth, my face burning. I blew out and sniffed. “Fine, I’ll go brush my teeth.” “I was just teasing.” Chuckling, he pulled my hands away from my face and kissed me again. I had to get you back somehow. Unable to refuse, I kissed him. And I was teasing, too. Your eyes were the first thing that drew me to you. He winked. I know. “Where were you sneaking off to?” I wiggled out from underneath him. Though he was aroused, he had something else on his mind. “To find Vlad and Errol and learn the details.” He stood and helped me out of the bed. “I felt bad not waiting up, but having time with you was more important.” My heart swelled. “Let me go with you.” I hurried to my feet, threw on my clothes, and ran my fingers through my hair. “I’m hungry, anyway.” Taking my hand, he led me into the kitchen. The cheery shamrock cabinets greeted me. The kitchen was spotless, but the smell of bacon and eggs lingered, indicating Cassidy had already cooked and cleaned up breakfast. I glanced at the time and noticed it was after ten. “They’re finally awake.” Elliott sighed and placed a hand to his forehead. “It’s been days.” “Are you having a Gone with the Wind moment?” I teased as I opened the refrigerator in search of something for Thorn and me to eat. “Sis, I didn’t fart.” Elliott dropped his hand on the wooden table. “I would own it if I did.” Thorn broke into a fit of laughter. Your brother doesn’t know much beyond video games and random gross facts, like peeing on fires. Don’t remind me. I grabbed some bacon and two cold biscuits. “She meant the movie, dumbass,” Eva deadpanned. “I swear, I love video games as much as you do, but I still know the romance classics.” “Says the person who thought Super Mario Kart was the best game ever.” Elliott crossed his arms. “So I don’t take offense.” “I was six.” She grabbed a napkin from the middle of the table and tossed it at him. “You thought Donkey Kong was an epic game!” “f**k, it is epic.” He lifted a hand. “Two badass gorillas or some stupid cart that slides on bananas. Please, you make me sick.” Where were Sol and Mindy? I needed them to distract Eva and Elliott from their bickering. “Where is everyone?” “Outside, training with the oldies.” Elliott smirked. “Elliot!” I slammed the door shut and glared. “They are your elders.” “Please. Tia is an instigator, and Belinda pretends to be offended but eggs her on. Let’s not even talk about Merlin and Ryu. Those two are worse than me. They took over my gaming system this morning until Vlad and Theron came upstairs and told them they needed to train with the others.” Elliott rubbed his hands together. “And calling them oldies riles Tia up, which serves her right for telling Mindy I was staring at her all morning.” Oh, dear goodness. I opened a cabinet and pulled out two plates, which I covered with biscuits and tons of bacon. “Why aren’t you two with them, and where’s Peter?” Thorn asked as he placed a hand on my back, our connection buzzing. “Vlad and Theron made Peter go with them, and El and I stayed behind because we wanted to talk to you.” Eva stood, running her hands down her legs. “I’ve made my decision about becoming a dragon.” My heart hammered. This was it. And I wasn’t sure whether I wanted her to say yes or no. Thorn brushed his fingers against my back. A zing flowed through me, and calm settled into my heart, slowing it to a normal pace. No matter what she decided, I’d respect it as long as she was making the decision for the right reasons. “Oh, my gosh,” Elliot gritted out. “Just come out with it. She wants to change, so, like, let’s do this thing.” He stood and patted her shoulders while waggling his brows.
