Long POV

have known Nicolas since we were 3 and we have been together since.

My father used to be the go-to person for Queen Gisele, and when I and Nicolas were born, our families decided that we were to be the next generation to continue the Black Lion Legacy.

And without really wanting to, we were forced to walk in the footsteps of our ancestors and then our parents.

Nicolas used to be this gentle guy, who would cry if a fly got hurt, and now he is someone who can kill people without a blink.

When Lara came into his life, me and Kale thought that she would bring back his happiness, but instead, she changed into the most ruthless mafia Greece has ever known. Breaking his soup and shattering his heart.

that day when everyone found out that Nicolas, the son of Gisele was screwing the only daughter of the Black Panther, everyone mocked and laughed at him.

Making a joke of him and his family name.

I hate Lara with everything inside of me, she didn’t just destroy Nicolas's life but also turned my friend into a monster, the damage that Queen Gisele couldn’t do, she did it.

Ever since Lana has come into his life, I can see the small changes in Nicolas, she smiles more often, he is kind and carefree, and he enjoys talking and making conversation. I really miss the old him.

But seeing Lana, I can see she is just as broken as Nicolas, we don't know why yet, but I am determined to find out, without Nicolas knowing.

I was standing in the kitchen when the head cafe came up.

“Sorry to keep you waiting sir, we have prepared the best fresh dishes, for Sir Nicolas and yourself, and for your guest”, he said as he handed my bodyguard the bags of food.

“Make sure every day you send up food for lunch”, I said, and the cafe bowed and left.

I made my way back to the office when I saw Queen Gisele come inside.

I walked up to her and bowed my head, “My queen”, I greeted her.

“Where is Nicolas?”, she said, looking straight past me.

“Sir Nicolas is upstairs in his office, waiting for his lunch”, I said as I walked behind her.

We got up to the office, and we saw, Nicolas and Lana, sitting on his table, laughing loudly.

Queen Gisele stopped in her tracks, seeing Nicolas so free and happy.

Sometimes I think, she doesn't want Nicolas to have a normal life, she wants him to be the ruthless cruel Mafia King. We walked inside, and at once, Nicolas stopped talking, the smile and happiness was no longer visible on his face. He stood up and walked toward his mother.

“Mother”, he greeted her with a hug.

“Who do we have here?”, she asked, looking past Nicolas and over to Lana.

Seeing Nicolas call Queen Gisele's mother, she quickly got off the seat and bowed her head.

I know that Nicolas hates it, but he stays calm.

“This is Lana, mother, she is our new Architect officer”, Nicolas introduced.

Queen Gisele didn’t look impressed but walked inside Nicolas's office.

“Girl, I think you need to learn to show respect to your superior, not sit here and laugh like a slut”, she spat at Lana.

Lana’s innocent smile dropped from her face, and she put her head down in shame.

Nicolas clenched his fist at his mother's words.

“Mother, Lana is a very respectful employee of mine, please do not disrespect her”, Nicolas said and walked over to Lana.

“Hey, I am sorry, but we will have lunch together next time, why don’t go and Long go and eat together for today”, he said and looked at me.

I understood his order and made way for Lana to follow me.

Lana nodded and followed me, we left Nicolas and Queen Gisele in the office, and from what we could see, Queen Gisele was not happy, she was throwing daggers at Lana.

Nicolas POV

“Mother, you didn’t need to be rude to her”, I said as I tried to control the burning rage inside me. Seeing the sadness on Lana's face, brought this pit of fire inside my stomach that I couldn’t put out.

“Who is she?”, my mother asked me as she started looking at me with disappointment.

“She is an employee here Mother”, I said as I set down in front of her.

“You told me that before, but who is she?”, she asked again, and I knew what she meant. But I couldn't tell her exactly what Lana meant to me, because you see Queen Gisele likes the monster I am. And she doesn't want anything in the way of that.

“She is a girl that I want, and I would very much appreciate it if you kept her out of your sight”, I said in a cold voice. I am the goddam Mafia King, and even my mother is not allowed to interfere with my life.

“Hmm, so she is just another one of your prostitutes?”, her mother said in a mocking tone.

Anger rose within me, unable to punch my mother, I wielded my gun out of my back and placed it on her right man's head, and without hesitation, I blew his head off.

“I will say this one last time Mother, do not mess with her, she is mine to mess with”, I said, and I looked at my bodyguards and yelled, “Get his body out of here and clean this place up”. I walked out of my office and left my mother shaken up.

She knows best not to mess with me, but she does have a habit of pushing my buttons. I left the office and called Long.

“Where are you?”. I asked annoyed.

“We are at the Terence”, came his reply, and with that, I headed off to the Terence.

Once I got up, I saw Lana, crying. She had her head down, as tears were streaming down her cheeks, “I am sorry for my behaviour Sir Nicolas”, she said as she felt my presence. I bent down in front of her on one knee and lifted her chin slightly.

“Do not apologize, you did nothing wrong”, I said as I tried to touch her face, but my hands were shaking from the anger.

She relished my hands shaking, so at once, she got up and hugged me, “Hey, don’t be angry, I am not upset about how your mother spoke to me”, she said innocently.
