KOOKIE: My head pounds like there’s a village of Smurfs throwing a party in it. A loud groan escapes my throat as I shift under the covers, and for a moment, I don’t know where I am. I open my eyes to see the stream of the setting sun filtering through the curtains. My tongue feels dry and heavy, and my stomach turns in slow, nauseating waves. I place a hand on my forehead as though that would make the drumming go away.
