"Valeria," although Tobias's tone was calm, the joy of seeing her was evident in his voice. He greeted her with a kiss and a hug, introducing her to the others. "She was a great coworker for several years. I have total faith in her," he added. "This is Mr. Christopher Butcher, his son Xavier Butcher, and a very important partner with whom we will work closely, Alaric Jackson."
"I already knew Mrs. McKenzie," Alaric commented.
"We had also had the opportunity to see her. It is a pleasant surprise to meet again, Valeria," Mr. Butcher said, squeezing her hand delicately and staying with her for a few seconds.
When Mr. Butcher looked into those eyes, that amber tone left him no doubt. She could be Naomi's daughter; she could be her daughter.
