Consequences
Wednesday was a holiday.
Valeria had been exceedingly restless since morning; her father had promised to call her soon, which only added to her anxiety. Several sleepless nights plagued her, each moment fraught with thoughts about Alaric and the impending blame.
She glanced at her cellphone screen; Adrien was putting Mia to bed.
Should I tell him?
"Okay, let's make plans. Where do you want to go for our anniversary?" Adrien approached her, observing her fidgety hands and noting her unease.
