Adapting to a change is difficult but worth a try.
l stay with my mom and little brother Ethan, the favourite child.
He's still in elementary school and l in freshman year of highschool and now mom wants us to move to the city.I still think it's because of Ethan,she never listens to my opinion.
"Mom,is it necessary to change, can't we stay?",l plead suddenly reluctant to change.
"This is for your own good",she reassures me packing the last box in the truck.
"Mine or Ethan's",l murmur..
"What did you say?", she turns back.
"Nothing,mom did you see my diary?",l ask looking for it.
"Why do you need that piece of rubbish?,you can always buy a new one",she stops at her tracks.
"It's not a piece of rubbish, it's a memory of father",l snap feeling disheartened as l continue looking for it.
We reach the new house and Ethan is in my room,has my diary flipping through the pages reading like he understands it all.
"What are you doing?,l give him an eye contact.
He looks at me mischievously and throws it before running out of my room.
l remain dazzled and wondering what he was doing and ways of improving my room security.

"Wake up,your going to be late for your first day in school",l hear a voice call out.
l twist and turn suddenly remembering the fact.
"Oh,no l merely forgot my alarm is ruined mom,l need a new one",l cry out, being the reason l woke up late in the first place.
"A new one,l don't have money for those useless items",she complains.
"How come your gonna buy Ethan a new action figure?",l complain too.
"You can't compare to him,he's still young",she claims and disappears into the kitchen.
l quickly put on my uniform and quickly run to school.
Luckily,l enter before the gates are closed.l stop to catch my breathe.
l report to the principal's office and l'm given my class.l am welcomed by staring eyes and the teacher.
"Class,we have a new student joking us,please welcome her and make her feel at home,take a seat",the teacher requests.
The students welcome me and l scan for a seat.
The only empty seat is near a brunette girl in the back row.
l move to the seat and unpack my books."Hi,l'm Asa",l introduce myself.
"l'm Maxie and l guess we are gonna be desk mates",she gives me a warm smile.
One hour into the lesson,half of the class was sleeping.The teacher doesn't seem bothered at all,like he is used.
After the lesson,he moves out and l stay put in my seat until Maxie pulls me.
"Don't tell me your a nerd?,let's go and tour the school",she winks.
"Ok",l agree.
We walk around as Maxie explains everything to me including different personalities.
We go to the cafeteria for break and l find out Maxie actually has another friend Sophie.
I get to know them and we actually have a lot in common.We all like rock music,shopping and horror movies.
As we get to know more about each other,the room suddenly goes quiet.
l turn to see a really dark vibe giving guy.He has a fully black outfit,mask and shoes.
He looks awfully like a rebel if l conclude.Top on that,he has a group of two more boys with him almost similar dressing style.
What amuses me is why the room was silent when he came in?.
"Who is he?",l ask Sophie.
"He's Axel totally not to be messed with,you can call him school bully or you can give him any negative name, he's a mafia's son",she explains.
"Ok,fine but why was everyone so quiet when he came in?",l ask still missing the point.
"You can call that fear,no one cares go near him,rumors say he once killed a girl that was trying to befriend him",Maxie adds.
"But he's still the most handsome so girls even risk to approach him",Sophie builds castles in the air.
"Not to mention,he's on the wall of fame,no one's ever been there",Maxie smirks.
"l have a feeling you guys got a crush on the guy",l give them a knowing smile.
"Totally not me,but Sophie once had a crush on him but l guess it's gone",Maxie says.
We continue eating until the class time bell rings.
"That was some great talk",l laugh as we enter class.
Sophie branches off to her seat, lt's sad that she doesn't sit with us.
Maxie and l go to our seats.lt comes to my notice that Axel is actually in our class ,you could say we are close neighbors. Maxie sits in front of me and him on the other column but next to me.
"Maxie,can we exchange seats?",l plead with hope of distancing myself.
"Sorry,but l like my seat,l can get to sleep without the teacher looking",she claims.
"l'm stuck with this negative aura guy",l mummer.
The teacher enters and we begin learning.In the beginning, l'm so sobber but then l begin to doze.
"Hey,you,in the last row,come and answer this question",l hear a voice yell, probably the teacher.
l wake up and shamelessly stretch.l find out he really isn't joking.
Maxie signals a "you've got it thumbs up".
l stand up and honestly l don't know the answer.
"Uh,uh",l stammer trying to find a way out.
"Sir, he's sleeping as well",l point to Axel who is deep in sleep.
The teacher calls him to answer the question instead.
He walks to the board and answers it before going back.
The students clap and Axel gives me a hostile look that sends shivers down my spine.
l make sure to avoid eye contact for the whole lesson.
At lunch time,l put on a mask through out so he doesn't notice me and l avoid him in every way.
Sophie and Maxie go home first since l'm on cleaning duty put by Tiff,the class captain.
l clean the class with some other guys on duty.As l go to take the cleaning materials in the store,the door suddenly closes and the lights go off.
I blindly move towards where l think the switch is and tap it.Suprisingly,l touch a warm yet and bumpy thing.
The lights come back to reveal Axle and l touching his chest.
l pull away in a haste and shame.l run for the door and find him there,how did he even move?.
"You must be new,right?",he awkwardly questions.
l mean l was recently introduced as a new student in class.
"Ya,lam",l say.
"Do you know who l am?",he asks fiercely."Your Axel",l joke.
He angrily hits his fist onto the wall tripping me in front of him.
"Ok,l think we are getting too close",l panic.
"l'm warning you not to mess with me and mind your business",he yells coming closer than meant to be.
l manage to sneak and run out of the door.

"Mom, l'm home",l shout as l take off my shoes.
"How was your first day of school?",she asks.
"It was great, l'm going to my room now",l say.
"First have dinner,then you can go",she places the food on the dining.
l eat a little and Ethan brings me a container of small strawberries.
"For you",he smirks giving it to me.
lt's not like him to do this but l crave them.
"Thanks",l take them to my room and munch on them as l chat with Sophie and Maxie.
At night,l get a serious stomachache,must be those strawberries,l had a bad feeling.
l totally fail to sleep the whole night.
