Chapter 4: A Night With A Stranger

Mr. Patterson looked at Sabrina with a severe expression, extremely unhappy with her answer, “What do you mean that the wedding is off?!”

Sabrina stared back at him and gave him a small smile, “The wedding is canceled. There will be no more wedding between me and him. I think that’s easy to understand, don’t you think Vivian?”

“Don’t be unreasonable, Sabrina. It is normal for two people to quarrel. You and Ethan had long been engaged and were about to get married, so you should at least be considerate of him. Ethan is very kind to you.” Mr. Patterson reasoned.

Most of the people in their social circle knew of this engagement. It would be embarrassing if the wedding was suddenly called off.

Besides, what matters the most is the reputation he had built and they had already helped the Ross Corporation quite a lot.

He could not let his efforts go to waste just because of his prideful daughter!

Sabrina furrowed her brow, “Unreasonable? Do you think I would make this decision just because of a mere fight?… You think too lowly of me, Dad.”

Mrs. Patterson looked at Sabrina with hostility in her eyes and said, “Sabrina, you should change that temper of yours. You are about to get married, so you have to be more generous and magnanimous.”

She glanced at her husband’s side and said with concern, “Dear, we have already handed out the invitations for Sabrina’s wedding. If the wedding is canceled, I’m afraid it would affect the company so…”

Sabrina looked at her stepmother’s face coldly. She had long been used to her pillow-talking to her father. Marian Patterson was a smart woman and knew her way of words.

With her skills, no wonder she was able to give birth to Vivian when her mother was still alive and managed to snatch the wife position just a few days after her mother’s death.

In the past, she had never cared about this stepmother of hers. After all, she still had Vivian, who cared for her. But now, she could clearly see things clearly.

This family was full of snakes… It’s a den for scheming and greedy people.

“I think the matter has been said, I’m leaving.” Sabrina took her bag and stood up from her seat.

But before she could take a step, Mr. Patterson’s voice said with a warning, “Are you really going to defy my orders? Remember, your mother’s ashes are still in my hands. I could easily ask people to throw them away.”

Sabrina’s fist clenched tightly but she never turned around. “Try it and on the next day, the shares in my hands will be donated to an orphanage. Let’s see who gets the final laugh.”

Sabrina walked out of the mansion with her back straight. She could still hear her father’s angry voice but she did not look back. She was done being the dutiful daughter of his.

“Dad, Sabrina is just having a difficult time… Let’s not make things hard for her.” Vivian’s voice sounded with full concern.

“She is getting rebellious. Don’t protect her, Vivian, or else that girl won’t know what’s good for her! She is a daughter of mine, so she must follow my words!”

The meaning behind his words is that Sabrina must give her shares to her.

Vivian was pleased but put on a worried face, “Dad… Let’s give Sabrina time. I can still find another way to make Mr. and Mrs. Vinson accept me as their daughter-in-law.”

“Vivian, don’t defend her anymore. I’ve told you before not to help her but you never listen. She does not deserve your concern at all. I will make that child regret disobeying me. Don’t think that with that shares, she could just threaten me.”

Sabrina found herself in a bar after that hateful event in her house. She seldom comes to bars, so she wasn’t used to drinking alcohol, which shows in the way she randomly chose her drinks right now.

But, she needed alcohol right now. She needed to drown herself. She might have looked strong earlier, but she was a mess inside.

Her heart, mind, and soul were all in such a mess that she did not even know how she had managed to put up such a strong front. This day had been such a painful one.

She got betrayed by three people whom she trusted the most.

“Another cup,” she said.

The bartender immediately prepared another drink for when Sabrina called his attention. With the shot glass given to her, she immediately drank it in one go.

Her insides were starting to burn because of the heaviness of the alcohol she had drunk, but she never stopped and ordered another one.

The alcohol did not only relieve her hurting heart but also made her mind free from worries. It’s like all her sorrows and pains had been washed away by alcohol.

Suddenly, a man came to her side and struck up a conversation.

“Hey there beautiful.” He flashed a charming smile at her. However, Sabrina ignored his existence.

She continued drinking as if the man beside her did not exist. This made the man angry about being ignored, so he directly took her hand and pulled her somewhere.

“You know what, I hate being ignored.”

Sabrina was already heavily drunk and her consciousness was slipping away. Her mind was on cloud nine and she didn’t have the strength to stop the man from taking her somewhere.

They reached the stairs leading to the second floor of the bar where the private rooms are located. But, just before they could take a step upwards, a tall figure stopped in front of them.

“Let her go,” His voice was cold and he exhibited a very strong, oppressive aura that a few only have.

“Who do you think you are….”

His words were cut when he saw who the person was. The man became as meek as a cat and immediately left the scene. He was not that courageous as to offend someone big.

He ran away as fast as he could as he muttered low curses.

Sabrina, who was suddenly grabbed again, blinked her eyes as she could try to look at the person’s face. But because of her drunkenness, she could not see who that person was.

A flash of affection flickered in Lucas’s gaze as he carried her bridal style.

“You are too reckless young lady.”

Feeling the familiar scent, Sabrina unconsciously wrapped her hands around his neck and snuggled closer to his chest.

Lucas immediately strode towards the parking area and placed the sleeping Sabrina on the passenger’s seat. Then they drove away from the bar.

When they reached Lucas’s place, he carried her again towards the guest room of his house. He did not know why he brought this woman to his house when, in fact, he could just send her to a hotel near the bar.

He laid her carefully on the spacious bed.

“Ethan… " Sabrina’s voice was so low but Lucas was still able to hear them clearly.

Lucas’s face turned black. So, she was thinking of that unfaithful fiancee of hers even in her sleep.

His eyes had turned colder as he locked the woman on the bed with his body.

His face moved closer to her face as he dangerously said, “See clearly who I am.”

That unfamiliar yet familiar voice made Sabrina frown as she tried to stare at the man’s face.

“Who are you then?”

With both hands beside her head, he looked at her up-close face closely.

Her cheeks were very exquisite. It was as if a hint of rouge had been applied to them, making her look like a ripe apple. With her mouth turned up, she stuck her tongue out to slightly lick her lips. The action caused a stir in his nether regions.

When he looked down, her chest was right below his. Her half-open collar exposed an obvious large patch of soft, white-skinned cleavage.

Sabrina looked very thin but the places that were supposed to be fleshy were indeed fleshy…

Lucas had a fair share of intimate relationships with his girls in the past. So, he was already immune to a female’s body and wouldn’t easily get attracted. But, right now, just by merely looking at this woman on the bed, he was already aroused and he could feel that familiar heat rummaging through his body.

“Hot… It’s hot.” Sabrina unbuttoned the few buttons of her clothes as she felt extremely uncomfortable.

“Damn it..” Lucas muttered a curse to himself. He felt something wrong with his chest.

This woman was a temptress! Lucas suddenly felt an impulse and he swiftly took over.

He went for her lips and bit them. His tongue swept over her lips and almost subconsciously slipped into her mouth.

Sabrina was stunned and felt uncomfortable as she tried to struggle. But, the man refused to stop and even became more aggressive.

The instant their skin touched, Sabrina felt the extreme heat of the man’s hand roaming on her body.

Her body began to tremble like a sieve. She felt his calloused fingertips sweep across her skin, leaving her with ripples of shudders in its wake.

Her clothes had already been unbuttoned by him. His palm traveled upwards and followed the contours of her body.

In the next moment, their clothes fell onto the floor. When both of them were vulnerable, he stopped and took a good look at the enamored Sabrina. He kissed her lightly on the lips.

After that, her long, slender legs were finally lifted up in a flash and she was huddled into his arms…

Outside the window, the city was filled with neon lights. The outside was blanketed in darkness, but inside the room, it was filled with enchantment…

By the time the dust settled, she was already dead tired.

Sabrina woke up the next day feeling intense pain all over her body. While holding her head up with her hand, she got off the bed and looked down…

Why was she naked?…

Her head was throbbing painfully, but she failed to immediately recall what had happened.

What ridiculous things exactly had she done last night…

The last thing she remembered was that she was drinking in a bar after she left the Patterson residence.

She looked around and saw the unfamiliar room she was in. Clothes were scattered all over the place and she felt sore, especially in the lower part of her body…

Suddenly, she felt the bed move and her eyes immediately turned to that area of the bed and saw a man sleeping!
