“Well, I think I have even greater news,” a voice spoke from behind us.
We turned at once.
Zarin.
“And what is that?” I asked, eager to hear what he had discovered.
“I found the girl,” he said. “She was in the market today. But she was not alone. She was with an older woman. At first, I thought the woman was human because she had no scent and no aura. So I followed them.”
I leaned forward slightly as he continued.
“When they were done buying what they needed, they moved toward a quiet path. That was when the woman began to speak strange words. They were spells. A portal appeared, and they walked through it. I followed before it closed. We appeared in front of a house deep in the Tseki woods. I hid quickly as they looked around before going inside.”
