I found out from Caroline later in the night that the mansion, named Astraia, belonged to Dane. His mother had gifted it to him years ago when he decided to move out of his family’s compound. She and his friends had also moved in while they attended university. Dane had apparently offered up his place as a base of operations. It was a beautiful house. It was much warmer than I would have expected from someone trying to blackmail me that was for sure. Caroline was trying very hard to be friendly but I couldn’t stomach it.
