“Hey! How was training?” I called out as I heard the door to our apartment open.
“Horrible!” Mirai groaned and I heard her plopping down on the couch. “Gosh, you know how they say you have no idea what you have until you lose it, yep that's what I'm going through right now. With Beta Hyme, those people have decided to make my life a living nightmare.”
“The rookies?” I asked, turning off the flame to let the steam cook the chopped vegetables I just added to the rice.
“They wouldn't dare. I'm talking about the rest. The ones who kept reporting the Beta and I to your man—”
“My man?” I raised an eyebrow in question, “He's the Alpha.”
