The air around me smelt of jasmine, human…..and Kael?
My eyes widened at the registration that a human had just grabbed me out of nowhere.
With a tight grip around my arm, my captor slammed my back against the wall, forcing air out of my lungs. My gaze snapped up as I came face to face with light caramel orbs.
Charlotte.
The b***h is human?!
“What do you think you're doing?” I snapped when the first wave of shock and surprise wore off, instinctively wrapping my hands around my belly. The motion went unnoticed as her gaze filled with silent anger and confusion was completely pinned on me.
“Who are you? And what do you want with Kael?” Her voice came out calmer than she looked, and it made me wonder for a split second what she would do if she didn't like my answer.
