LYRA’S POV Waking up was a hassle, but so was being trapped in a dream filled with the faces of the dead and painful memories. I slowly opened my eyes, releasing a tired groan. I blinked open my eyes, my vision unfocused and blurry. When I was finally able to see properly, I was met with a bed canopy and the feel of soft silk against my skin. “What...” My voice was thick and rough, as if I haven’t used it for days. My eyes looked around for a bit, the both of the squeezed in an exhausted squint as i tired to figure out my surroundings. I slowly got up, groaning at the heaviness of my body.
