Samantha walked into the office the next morning, feeling a mix of emotions. She was worried about her mom, but she was also anxious about telling Alexander.
As she sat down at her desk, Alexander walked out of his office and smiled at her. "Good morning, Samantha," he said. "How are you doing today?"
Samantha hesitated for a moment before answering. "I'm doing okay, thanks," she said. "But I need to talk to you about something."
Alexander's expression turned serious, and he nodded. "Of course, what's going on?"
Samantha took a deep breath before launching into the story. "My mom was in a car accident last night," she said. "She's in the hospital, and I'm really worried about her."
Alexander's face fell, and he walked over to her. "Oh, Samantha, I'm so sorry," he said, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Is she going to be okay?"
Samantha nodded, feeling a lump form in her throat. "The doctors say she's stable, but she has a long road to recovery ahead of her."
Alexander squeezed her shoulder gently. "I'm here for you, Samantha," he said. "Whatever you need, just let me know."
Samantha felt a wave of gratitude wash over her. She had been scared to tell Alexander, but now she was glad she had.
As they stood there, Alexander's hand on her shoulder, Samantha felt a spark of attraction. She knew she had feelings for Alexander, but she wasn't sure if he felt the same way.
"Thanks, Alexander," she said, smiling up at him. "That means a lot to me."
Alexander smiled back, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "You're welcome, Samantha," he said. "I care about you deeply."
Samantha's heart skipped a beat at his words. Did he mean it romantically, or was he just being kind?
As they pulled back, Alexander looked at her with a serious expression. "I want to help you take care of your mom," he said. "Can I drive you to the hospital and help you with anything you need?"
Samantha felt a wave of emotion wash over her. No one had ever offered to help her like that before.
"Thanks, Alexander," she said, smiling up at him. "That would mean a lot to me."
As they drove to the hospital together, Samantha couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards Alexander. He was kind, caring, and genuinely interested in helping her.
And as they spent the day together, taking care of her mom and talking, Samantha realized that she was falling deeply in love with Alexander.
But did he feel the same way?
