Indy woke up with a headache that was even worse than the one she had had after the party. When she opened her eyes, her lashes stuck together and her vision was blurry. Her forehead was pressed against a window, and seeing trees flash by, Indy established that she was in a car. A moving car. It was getting dark outside, or maybe it was getting light, and Indy had no idea what had happened or where she was going. She didn't know how much time had passed since she lost consciousness. When she tried to sit up, she noticed she couldn't move her arms. They were tied behind her back. She anxiously started squirming in her seat, trying to undo the ties to her hands and legs. Panic tried to take over her senses, but she had to stay calm and get to the bottom of this situation. "Don't," a dark voice came from beside her. When she turned her head, she looked into Ares' familiar, cold eyes. She opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Her throat was dry and aching and her voice failed her. Ares screwed the cap from a bottle of water and held it in front of her face. "Sit still," he demanded, tilting up her chin with one hand, and pressing the bottle against her lips with the other. Indy emptied the bottle with big gulps, feeling a little better afterwards. She cleared her throat. "What's happening?" she asked, trying to keep her voice even. Don't let him see you're scared. Ares looked ahead with a blank expression on his face. The person in the driver's seat turned around, and to her dismay, it was Eloy. The sucker. "Ah, look who's awake. Did you take a nice nap, sweetheart?" Indy pressed her lips together. She was not speaking to that i***t. "Eyes on the road," Ares commanded him. Eloy rolled his eyes, but obeyed. "Ares, where are you taking me?" Indy asked softly. She knew Eloy could hear her, but it somehow felt more appropriate to whisper. "Ares?" Ares ignored her again, so she nudged his arm with her shoulder. It was the best she could do with her hands tied. Literally. He turned his head to her, with an angry fire now burning in his eyes. "I told you not to touch me," he said in a low, threatening tone, still not sparing her a glance. "Then tell me what's going on," Indy begged, "please." "Don't act stupid," he spat, "it doesn't suit you." "Please, Ares, I have no idea what you're talking about," Indy tried. "I think this is all a big misunderstanding." Now he turned away from the window to give her a scrutinizing look. "We'll see about that." Indy searched his eyes for answers, but they only held anger and disappointment. Ares shook his head as if he was internally debating something with himself and went back to staring out of the window once again. Indy tried to see where they were going, but the light was fading quickly, confirming her guess that it was evening. But was it still Sunday? How much time had passed? Hours? Days? Her head felt like it was pounded on concrete a few times and her stomach was gnawing with hunger. Indy tried to block out all her discomfort. Knowledge was power, and everything she could find out might help her. She began with the first question that came to mind: where was she? It was dark, yes, but she had to take a closer look, see something, anything. The car was wobbling, so they were most likely driving on a dirt road. Tall trees flashed by; they drove through a forest. It was most definitely not the Valley, Indy established. Wherever she was, she hadn't been there before. There were no signs next to the road, no clues for Indy to take in, so she shifted her attention back to the car. Indy had no knowledge of cars whatsoever, but this one was big and seemed expensive. The leather still smelled new and there were no stains, no signs of use. Eloy was driving, but the passenger seat was empty. Ares probably sat next to her to keep an eye on her. She wondered where Jamie and Colt were. There were enough seats in the car for all of them. But maybe they had nothing to do with this? Maybe Ares and Eloy cooked up the plan to kidnap her together? She tried to think back to the boys' conversations in Ares' room. They were looking for a murderer, a sellout. They surely didn't think it was her? She had nothing to do with it. If only they let her explain. A light feeling started to form in her head, seeping through her massive headache. Indy felt like she was falling asleep. "Can you at least tell me where you're taking me?" she asked, barely conscious. "Deep into the woods," Ares replied ominously. It was the last thing she heard as she dozed off in a deep, dreamless slumber.
