Viekko knew Ty'an was traveling with a wolf, Gabriel, from the information Zeke had given him. He had known exactly where to find their encampment thanks to his brother as well. He had stopped maybe 50 feet from the cabin and used the dagger in his boot to cut his arm open then his pants and his leg, he used the blade to create dozens of marks up and down his body. Then manifested his power to create a shadow wolf paw and shred his shirt and his back open. He grimaced as he bled and staggered forward into the clearing. It would only take the wolf moments to smell his presence but it was Ty'ans reaction he was interested in.
"Stay here we have company" he heard the muffled voice from the cabin, male, gruff and gravely. Must be the wolf.
"How many times do I have to tell you I don't take orders from you." Ty'ans sweet voice drifted to his ears and he smiled. That was the beautiful Fae he knew. He collapsed face down in the leaves and waited. Moments later he heard a gasp and soft boot falls running toward him.
"Ty'an wait!" the wolfs voice.
"No, it can't be.... how did you get here, what happened..." he felt soft strong hands and shadow power wrap around him like a lovers embrace as Ty'an knealt beside him and cupped his face. "Viekko... how"
Tears were in her eyes as she looked at him brought a pull to his heart, guilt for the deception. He swallowed, suddenly unsure this plan was a good idea. He felt her shadows work their way around his body acting as a soft mat between his wounded body and the forest floor. She still held his face in her hands just staring into his eyes, both at a loss for words. Viekko had under estimated the effect seeing her and feeling her soft touch again would have on him.
"Who is the f**k is Viekko? How the hell did he get here and why the f**k are you looking at him like that?!" The obviously angry wolf snapped. The voice snapped Viekko out of the moment and back to reality. He made a show of dragging his hands underneath his upper body to push himself up.
Ty'ans eyes swirled and shadows reared up like cobras between Viekko and the wolf. She still cared then, she was creating a barrier between the two men. His heart fluttered with the knowledge.
"Viekko, be careful your," Ty'an looked at her hands covered in his blood and flame flickered in her eyes, "bleeding..." She looked from her hand to his face as if seeing him for the first time, looking into him, not just at him.
A chuckle left him before he could stop it, "still irresistible to you isn't it. Then it's true a flame never forgets it's flame." Her eyes snapped once again to his as he spoke.
"Yes he is bleeding, all over. Let's get him inside. You obviously know him and don't seem alarmed by him like you did at the presence of the other one so let's get him inside and doctored then." The wolf again, Viekko looked up at him for the first time. Truly looked at him. He was formidable, tall, brooding, with a looming feeling of danger. Just the sort Ty'an would surround herself with.
The wolf, Gabriel, reached down and put an arm under Viekko's hauling him to his feet. "Come friend, if your not an enemy of Ty'ans your not an enemy of mine."
We will see about that, Viekko thought to himself. Ty'an followed closely behind them as they made their way inside. The wolf deposited him at the table and stepped back as Ty'an pushed past him.
She sat facing Viekko, silent, running a hand down his face and then his arm. Raising the other with a swirl of magic. Her shadow reaching around him once more, he felt every cut close and the sting of bleeding recede. There she was, his twin flame, the only one she had ever healed was him. He wondered if that was still true, glancing at the wolf standing behind her.
"Ok will one of the two of you explain who he is, how you know each other and why you keep looking at each other like that?" Gabriel snapped crossing his arms across his chest and widening his stance. His irritation was obviously growing.
"This is Viekko, Zeke's younger brother." Ty'an finally replied looking over her shoulder at the wolf, who growled at the mention of Zeke's name. "He isn't a threat Gabriel, he is ... special to me. I won't see him harmed by you or anyone else."
"If I may, Princess, I can speak for myself" Viekko said bluntly, trying to sound offended when he really just wanted to laugh. He had to applaud her bravery speaking to the wolf that way. He doubted many people were so brave as he sized Gabriel up once again.
"Oh good, he speaks. What are you doing here and how did you find us? Something to do with your delightful brother no doubt," Gabriel addressed him. Ignoring the glare he was getting from Ty'an.
"Yes, my brother and I quarreled when he returned claiming that Ty'an was alive," Viekko had planned a few stories depending upon the response he gained from Ty'an or the Wolf at his sudden appearance, "I didn't believe him. I can see now I was mistaken."
Ty'an looked at him once more, "what happened how did you end up injured? Did Zeke do that to you?"
"My brother has a temper as you know, we quarreled, but no. I ran into a few shifters in the forest and was taken by surprise. Zeke gave me the coordinates to your campsite and challenged me to come see for myself that you are alive and well. Why didn't you come home Ty'an?" he added just the right amount of hurt to his voice. Just as he had hoped shame crossed her features, if he could just get her off balance enough to fall fast and hard for him again he could get her away from the wolf, they could hide on another continent, away from Zeke and the dark court.
"I couldn't risk anyone else Viekko, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," tears sprang to her eyes again as she glanced down at her hands twisting together in her lap. The wolf once again growled behind her, what the f**k was with this wolf and growling at every little thing. Moody creature.
Viekko reached for her hands but his hands were suddenly pinned to the bench by a very large boot. Loosing his temper he glared up at the wolf the boot belonged too.
"No one touches my mate, friend." Gabriel growled at him.
A cruel laugh erupted from Viekko's chest, MATE, this stupid wolf thought Ty'an was his mate. Oh, this was just getting better and better. First, his brother wanted his twin flame and now this wolf.
"Gabriel, stop it!" Ty'an was on her feet and glaring at the wolf. Viekko pulled his hands from beneath the boot and stood to face the wolf as well.
"Flames do not have mates, friend." he said with as much disdain as Gabriel had shown him, "A flame always recognizes it's flame."
He looked at Ty'an as he spoke the last sentence. It was meant for her not for this wolf, it was time she realized what she had already found.
"A flame, always recognizes it's flame." he said again, looking deep in her eyes swirling with flame and shadow once more.
