Morning sunlight entered Lyra's room through the window. For a moment, she thought everything was a dream. But when she looked around, her heart started beating fast. The old blue curtains. Her wooden desk. The flower vase her mother broke and fixed years ago. Everything was exactly how it used to be. Slowly, she touched her face. "I'm really back..." she whispered. Just then, someone knocked on her door. "Lyra! Hurry up!" her mother shouted from downstairs. "Cassian has been waiting outside for ten minutes!" Lyra froze. Cassian. The name alone brought tears to her eyes. She quickly ran downstairs and opened the front door. There he was. Cassian Vale. Alive. His dark hair was messy as always, and his bright smile looked exactly the same as she remembered. "Finally!" he complained playfully. "At this rate, we'll miss training." Before he could say another word, Lyra suddenly hugged him tightly. Cassian's eyes widened. "L-Lyra?" Tears rolled down her cheeks. He was warm. He was real. He was alive. Cassian awkwardly patted her back. "Did something happen?" he asked softly. Lyra quickly let go and wiped her tears. "N-No. I just had a bad dream." Cassian smiled gently. "Then it's a good thing I'm here." Those words almost broke her heart. Because only she knew the truth. Five years from now... He would die. As they walked toward the training grounds, Lyra quietly watched him. Every laugh. Every smile. Every little habit she had missed for five long years. She promised herself one thing. This time, she would save him. No matter what it cost. But far away, inside the ruins of the Moon Temple, the crystal Lyra had touched slowly began to glow again. A dark voice echoed through the empty chamber. "Time has changed..." "Find the girl." Two glowing red eyes suddenly opened in the darkness. --- To Be Continued...
